Do You Give Directions To The Competition?
I am regularly approached by the competition and asked for directions to a local address.
Out of my good nature I have tried to help them out in the past.
With the current state of affairs I am getting pissed off with giving out "commercially sensitive information" and from now on will refuse.

I do it slightly differently - if its a guy in an overall even if in a TNT/DHL van I think of him as an honest working man so will help if I can. If its a car and looks like some sort of rep going to a business I don't help. Joe and Jane public I have no problems with helping.
You can normally spot a rep as they have paperwork and briefcases spread all over the seats.

Yes that's what I was doing as well but we are giving out information that is undermining our living.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I do it slightly differently - if its a guy in an overall even if in a TNT/DHL van I think of him as an honest working man so will help if I can. They are working for a firm that is actively trying to steal OUR business and undercutting us out of a job.

Just go down there, over the bridge past Auntie Jeans house. Then when you get to Uncle dereks house, the one with all the cladding turn right.Second left at the roundabout past cousin pats house, third on the left with a white transit van in drive. Then you should come to the harbour edge.Make sure you apply handbrake. Now release handbrake and get a free carwashT-MAN wrote:I give all the competition nobs all the wrong directions and see it as a victory to us posties!

I do a rural area and there are loads of out of the way farms that only locals and of course us posties know and most of the competitors can`t find them even those with Sat Navs,so when they ask me where farms are I ALWAYS send them to the wrong ones.
I once had a Parceline geezer comeback and hour later and shouted at me that I was a lying dickhead to which I replied yes I am but I`m not the one with a parcel still stuck in the back of my van.

Give directions......... nfw!
I just say:
"Sorry mate I'm new here... I don't know this round, if I have to learn it then you can too!"
Or "Is that a street atlas you have there, if it is use the fekker then!"
Or "Well that explains why you're in a brown uniform then! Coz you're Sh**e at your job!"
Or like others have said... just give the buggers wrong directions, or just enough to make 'em think they're going the right way for the delivery, when they're not!
Wot me... tell a porkie? Never!!!!!
I can just imagine posties and the comp. coming to blows one day as we 'fight' to deliver mail through the same letterbox at the same time! lmaoooo

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
