POL IT sell off

Post by panasonic222 »

Expect to hear on the 1 May that POL IT dept is being outsourced
POL are playing a clever game with us all and we are falling into the trap of not supporting one another.
Crown colleagues are not being supported by Head Office staff and as a consequence they will now see their jobs disappear--- Subpostmasters seem to knock their Crown colleagues at every opportunity.
We need to support each other or one day we're gonna wake up and find that all jobs in POL have been outsorced and we're working for Smiths Fujitsu or whoever POL choose to sell us off to
Lets stand together and fight whilst we still have influence Its great to see joint statements from CWU and CMA long may this continue lets invite our brothers and sisters from the NFSP into the fold we would then have real power to influence POLS future....

Very nicely put, and as a Crown Office employee I shall be withdrawing my labour this coming Monday for many reasons beyond simply Pay.

Postmasters are alive to this threat, thats why we have our own Branch within the CWU, so not all Postmasters knock Crowns etc, that is being done by that excuse of a Union the NFSP, all POL workers who come into contact with a Postmaster should encourage them to join the Postmasters Branch of the CWU, we are all front line, and its always the front line the corporate centre attacks first to hide their own ineptitude.

Are they outsourcing it before the report into the 'robustness' of Horizon?

I didn't know pol had an it department. I've only ever dealt with fujitsu when I've had a problem. Why has pol got an it department ? What does it do ? Is it because of them we need fujitsu to fix things ?

Subbie, another week or two has gone by, what's the spmr department of the cwu done about the network transformation abomination ?

I have at least found out that (and the dept for bis seems quite pround of this) 'the transformation program was set up with extensive input from nfsp and the government had no role in these decisions'. From that letter, and from other information I've received from dept for bis to date, I am sure that the govt has absolutely no idea pol has made (amongst other payments) a 340 grand donation to the nfsp for their 'input' and if it does know ,then it needs to be made public how a loss making business supposedly run by the government can make such payments to a small group of individuals. - hey how about the cwu doing just that ? Er, soon, before it's too late, what do you say ? huh ? huh ? We're well over year into this now, and what have cwu actually done ?

I am after all as you point out a 'lonely man digging a pointless hole while the martians death ray people all over the place'...while you watch and scoff at my tilting at windmills...or something. Come on subbie, get the cwu to do something, anything, before it's too late. Then I'll join. Unless pol make a settlement in the meantime, of course. Then I'll bid this board adios, and adieu, and wish every man and woman all the very best in their collective endeavour.

Pete.
