Wrong! The delivery would be tailored to enable finishing at the depot as every walk on modernisation should do - HCT return to depot, P&L return to depot with the vehicle and rural drivers return to depot with the vehicle - all within the scheduled shift - no thousands of hours docket and to add insult to injury the deliveries are even bigger than the on site finish

In our office they have to return with the driver, if they don't they are in the managers office next day 'for a chat'.
Where as in ours they can go straight home.

Ours return to the office - in many cases "the passenger" becomes the driver delivering parcels to assigned HCT walks. The original driver preps both deliveries and begins his shift 1 hour and 45 minutes before his mate they both tie up and load the van and do two deliveries, the tracked, specials and parcels for their two deliveries and the other delivers parcels on his return - which have now become a topic of concern and parcels are now being "condensed" as the term goes - more parcels from other HCT deliveries are added and other "passengers" are sent out on leavings.
One of the problems is that some were starting early, loading the van with the afternoon parcels going out and delivering them and getting back in time for their "start" however you can see where the problem arises - the managers lose control of the staff because they cannot condense parcel deliveries - so it become a war of attrition where although they had completed their task for the day they were finishing earlier than scheduled and was then being sent out to complete other tasks.
