Transfer to Royal Mail

Rumours are that Royal Mail are going to stop using casuals, with managers been told either to get rid or transfer angardees to royal mail - 15 hour contracts are being mooted at my office. Wondering if anyone else has heard of this - is it national or local? :shock:

Rumours have it that RM maybe giving out contracts to Angard workers. Anyone heard anything ?

Once RM create new "real" jobs it's hard to shed them, so I've heard (union agreements etc,.) so doing away with non Xmas casuals altogether may not be in their best interest. There's another thread started on the same subject, don't know if it's from your MC

PS I've heard plenty of rumours but not that one.

I hope the "get rid" part isn't true and I hope it won't mean us casuals have to compete for just a few jobs.

So long as they get rid of the lazy f***ers that plague our centre and not the hard workers...having said that no doubt all the women who look half decent will get kept on :roll:

Not sure about anywhere else but our work seems to have dried right up...although that could be due to most of us reaching AWR status... :arrrghhh

News confirmed at my office, 15 hour contract accepted. If you have regular hours expect to hear something soon, however it could be bad news for you who say work has dried up :neutral:

Although you can work quite a few shifts at our MC, and I haven't had a blank week for ages, we don't have regular hours and tend to be booked at short notice, so they would have to change things quite a lot to accommodate fixed hours.

same, although i'm expecting this week to be quiet i worked Saturday but haven't had a text to go in tonight and today is usually the busiest day.

Apparently just after easter it always dies down because no RM staff are taking holidays and it should pick back up in a couple of weeks...now if only I could explain to my bank manager why he won't be getting his money next month....lol
