OOO Don't get me started on this subject! We have a dom who is only seen when he pins up silly messages in the bogs, his underdom, 6 section managers , a dom support, a trainee dom support, 3 in the callers office and 4 in the rle who all stay in the office doing not much while us people are out on the streets trying to fit a square peg in around hole.
With 200 jobs going in our area soon it makes you wonder why they cant save the money by getting these people on the streets delivering cos thats where the people are who pay our wages.
We really need some sort of time and motion guys to really find out how they can get away with being paid for doing extremely little.
Please all get onto moya and tell her how little these managers do. People are about to lose their jobs

3 doms well all three think they are and a union rep who thinks hes a dom and the assistant rep who thinks hes a dom and they local big head who was an acting dom in 1999

Just to calirify..

- We have a DOM who disappears shortly after 8am. Doesn't work Saturdays.
- A tray sorter/York pusher.
-DOM's spokesperson who announces all the crap and pesters us non stop over minor unimportant bollocks
-clipboard man who pretends to count and monitor stuff to look busy.
- Fatman who surfs the Internet all day.
- Trainee twat who gets the job of delivering cut offs but doesn't bother delivering packets.

Far too many. Lots wandering around aimlessly on "planning" and "special projects" at great cost, with zero productive or financial value to Royal Mail, unless trying to save a second here and there will save the company £millions, which it won't!

The office could easily run off a DOM + 2 liners/lackies if they knew how to manage.
Earlier this week, one of the sections had only one person on IPS, when 4 were needed. Yet a "manager" was available to complete the onerous, tremendously difficult task of watching that one person sort. The screws are on the biggest, easiest gravy train imaginable. Their salaries literally are "money for nothing", absolutely wasteful and all approved by the hierarchy.

I may have to ask Moya what she thinks of such profound waste.

That about sums it up,they also seem to be employing some who have replaced long term DOMs on shorter contracts and less money in my area.The ASM recently asked them to cut hours in the offices which was knocked back...the response was to increase management hours.
