Re: Stage issued for one absence 69 days brain tumor removed
That's bloody awful, but the actions of Royal Mail management sank well below standards of decency a good while back.
Funnily enough, around the same time an awful lot of our colleagues decided to leave us, and join them.
It's the fat, useless, lazy, former postmen/drivers, that are the worst of the worst. w*****s the lot of 'em.

To quote; "Equality is about treating other people the way we want to be treated ourselves. The company is committed to maintaining its equal opportunities policy and to being a just and caring employer." ... very caring !! :(

Pathetic.
If we do get privatised and you need an excuse to sell your shares quickly this is it.
With this breed of manager in charge I give the company two years max before we're calling in KPMG and emptying our lockers.

Unless you're saying there are a large number of former postmen/drivers who are fat, useless and lazy it's not a generalisation,it's a targeted specific.

One of our girls had an RTA, month in hospital another 3 recuperating. Police said she was blameless and could not of avoided the accident....unfortunatley the DIM thought otherwise and issued the stage warning on her first day back.
And they wonder why we hate them!

adrianjames first of all, I have every sympathy for your particular circumstance, from what I understand Stage one is not automatically issued, consideration needs to be given for the nature of the illness before issue.
The main criteria of your condition is that its for life, are you taking any medication for it for life as well ? this will add weight, your condition should come under the Equality Act 2010, you not only can issue put in a grievance you can issue an ET1 against them, a tribunal with no vested interest other than to apply the employment law impartially will not look kindly on ignoring the Equality Act and Royal Mail would get very bad PR.
Avoid going to the media until you have concluded the case, as any media contact could negatively affect the outcome of the case.
Go to your Rep to get the ball rolling.

Why does this not surprise me with RM
I wish you all the very best with your recovery. I am so pleased for you that they were able to remove it.
