We also have more than two or three in the area coming up for retirement, there would be no need to replace them, so saying 1/6 would lose their jobs is wrong.
Saturdays could also be covered by PT's wanting to make their hours up, or FT's wanting overtime.
I can't see a problem with a 5 day week.
so exactly how many redundancies would it take to justify your point of view?
by the way, unless i am missing the point you are already on a 5 day week.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????
you really couldn't make it up!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem won't be how many redundancies there are as there will probably be more volunteers than they need.
The real problem lies not in who or how many of us are left after the change to 5 day service but the fact that Royal Mail will reduce the head count level for commercial reasons and there will be less positions available to anyone wanting to join Royal Mail afterwards.
