Think pay top,s most ppl,s list of priorities just to say you use bullying as one of the other priorities how long have the cwu known that this has been going on and very little has been done to stop it. as for pension,s did the cwu not get a very large yes vote a few year,s ago for strike action and we are still waiting i,m sure someone will say if i,m wrong.dingo wrote:What would you want the union to do ballot the membership as we are 3 days over due ? Not on the pension issue! They managed to "de-couple" it from the negotiations with the promise of a later ballot which never happened and then of course RM altered the pension. The CWU employees remains the same at half pay of course.aiden01 wrote:Think pay top,s most ppl,s list of priorities just to say you use bullying as one of the other priorities how long have the cwu known that this has been going on and very little has been done to stop it. as for pension,s did the cwu not get a very large yes vote a few year,s ago for strike action and we are still waiting i,m sure someone will say if i,m wrong.dingo wrote:What would you want the union to do ballot the membership as we are 3 days over due ? Re: Royal Mail Pay - April 2013
There is just under 30 million in unpaid lump sums for all revisions and the union wants all of this money paid to offices which are due outstanding lump sums.

How does that gel? Only those offices that have had the revisions would be due any outstanding lump sums and considering there are 800 offices without a revision they would be entitled to nothing - unless of course the monies will be paid to some for nothing at alldingo wrote:There is just under 30 million in unpaid lump sums for all revisions and the union wants all of this money paid to offices which are due outstanding lump sums.

But then again the money was supposed to be paid out over the 3 years of the BT agreement.dvbuk55 wrote:How does that gel? It wasn't the fault of any individual unit that there weren't enough planners or that they had to spend so much time revisiting their own cock-ups.
And as we all know - the revisions weren't about savings......so if the money is due, they should pay up.

BUT it isn't due is it? The lump sums were only paid out on completion of various stages of revisions - it must have been assumed that ALL revisions would have been carried out within the time scale of BT2010 - which of course was ludicrous but there it is - the monies aren't due UNLESS that element of the agreed revision has taken place.clashcityrocker wrote:But then again the money was supposed to be paid out over the 3 years of the BT agreement.dvbuk55 wrote:How does that gel? Someone has a bee in the bonnet over this.
The payments were part of the 2010 paydeal, that deals time is up.
The money that was part of it is now overdue to everyone who has not received it.

Re: Royal Mail Pay - April 2013
The money was DUE as part of the 3 year deal.
And those that got their money years ago, actually got more when you factor in inflation.
The introduction of the 39hr week was supposed to be part of the revision process.
Their f**k ups. Now they should pay up.

Re: Royal Mail Pay - April 2013
There is a line in the agreement that the union and business will enter into a review over the transformation in April 2013, nothing is mentioned about what should be, or shouldn't be reviewed so I think its a good move by the Union. Also, to be honest, every office will have revisions at some point in the medium term, and again in the longer term, revisions and changes are a fact of life in Royal Mail delivery so perhaps we should look on it as payment in advance of a revision rather than being paid not to transform.dvbuk55 wrote:BUT it isn't due is it? Also your position as given in the quote would seem to punish posties on the front line for inadequacies and poor planning on RMs part not their own. I personally think it would be unfair that those units who have not received payments (which are linked to colleagueshares) if they had to wait much longer.

Re: Royal Mail Pay - April 2013
To be fair it's not as clear cut as anyone is making out.
There is a 3 year pay deal in BT2010 but the lump sums were not directly coupled to that 3 year time span.
What they were directly coupled to was transformation milestones.
They are not DUE because there was no cast iron DUE date for the lump sums.
Perhaps it would have been sensible to include one at the time.
BT2010 and beyond has not run out in the same way that P&M or the Way Forward haven't run out.
To be honest I couldn't care less if they're paid out tomorrow but you have to ask yourself, without the lump sums...what incentive is there for an office to agree a revision?
Having been through a few I know you can stall them more or less forever,if that's your intention..

It was thought that the transformation plan would be completed in the same time frame but nowhere in the agreement does it guarantee this,I definitely remember about 6 months in talk of extending it to 5 years. These will be known as Transformation Lump Sums and payment is linked directly to key transformation milestones.

Re: Royal Mail Pay - April 2013
What it does highlight is that BT2010 was a farce, ill thought out, ill carried out, and obviously has a divided workforce - half of whom are working to BT 2010 and half who are carrying on in their own sweet way. When they transform they get the money, til then they aren't due it.
