Logan's Run comes to mind. Get rid of anyone over 29(whatever way managers want!)Oh but Crammie toooooo old. There are people who over 20 years of service(started at 16) who are in their 30's. I was once called the fastest postie in the east, but now have wrecked ankles and knees (work related)but still can do a good days work. I applaud the fastest postie in GB, but how long will you last?TROLL

I do wonder how many mistakes and short cuts (recorded deliveries always signed for? etc) he makes every day.

crammypostie1 wrote:And a si have said in anothe rpost. I dont agree with sseniority. Why should a guy that takes the pee and walks slow and does deliveries in 6 hours with hand backs that is slow get a pick of duties over fok that are more efficent.

For instance the union are useless. if say we have to sort say 18 letters per minute they tell you lot to sort just 18 letters per minute. i can sort around 40 letters per min, but union will tell you to slow down, look union i want to graft i cant go slow and i ont wanna slow things down, i wanna come to work and do it to the best i can. This is why i dont go in the union, and my views are why i will be banned again

Pathetic
I think you just like to get everyones backs up by your stuped comments, maybe in 20 years when you are worn out through all the running round to try and complete your duty in record time you will look back and realise what a prat you are!

Crammie I agree with you! I couldn't do the job as quick as some of the younger ones could do it. However when I started there was very little health and safety (now thanks to the union there is).
We used to carry heavy bags of mail, bent over as we transferred it from van to van, this caused numerous back injuries to us older staff. Then of course the deliveries weren't as now there were split shifts and also two deliveries a day with full bags and biking twice over delivery areas. Oh and fitness wise some of the messenger boys would bike 10 miles to deliver one telegram.

Of course when we were your age we could go quicker, but in those days we had respect for the older staff who had done their time in the job and we understood about the strain the job put on them. Still you go on believing you are the best postie in the country, but spare a thought for those people who worked in a much harder time.

He knows that he is trying to bait people. One of his more outlandish claims means he walks at a speed that he would complete a 20km walking race only 20 minutes off world record pace.

The only way to debate with him is to use facts rather than name calling, although he just ignores those posts. Or ignore him.

Crammy and all his other "sock puppets" are not here to debate he is here to get attention, starve him of it and he'll either go back to his bridge or have an epiphany and really debate instead of making immature and patently false claims.

Fatal! Talking to sock puppets brings only pain -"Crammy you big boy, fastest postie in the West, all the ladies like you, we love you long time" - take it from someone with personal experience. :cuppa

As has been mentioned above, do 20 years in all weathers, day in day out, then tell me senior guys are slow. We were all (well nearly all) like that when we first started.

But time, treatment, disillusionment and a whole host of other things has battered any enthusiasm I had for this job out of me a long time ago. I come in, do my job and go home, and in between, I laugh at the newbies running themselves ragged for a boss and company that really couldn't give 2 f***s if we lived or died, and when I do die, will use the opportunity to do nothing more than replace me with some poor unfortunate on less money, give them more work, who will then look at someone like you and call you old, lazy and a piss taker. Despite the fact that, if it wasn't for people like us, doing our jobs right and protecting them for ingrates like you, you may not even have a job.

And, one other thing, many senior guys would be perfectly willing to leave because they've had enough of this company and upstarts like you, give them a decent VR/EVR pay off and you wouldn't see them for dust. Then your workload will go up again, and we can complain our mail deliveries are getting even later. :wave
I'm with you 100% mate, i'd be off tomorrow. Trouble is with us, we can remember when the days when the customer was king.
