Re: Pay
Overtime rate increase is no good to anyone if they do not get paid when they go over their time as is the case in most offices what about clocking in and out and a deal on fair work loads for those who do not want overtime!.

Re: Pay
Exactly what I mean.....CWU, all promises & no delivery......dvbuk55 wrote:Well I seem to recall a similar promise in 2009 but it didn't work out too well. As for ALL the issues - they have been there throughout the BT2010 agreement and in truth there has been no protection whatsoever from the misdirection, mis-planning and the bullying in all that time. As for the CSS, D2D, CDV and uncle tom cobbley and all - the CWU embraced it like the prodigal son and could they have stopped it - well yes in part by simply stating that they did not agree and would not support the changes - the least they could have done was to say to the membership that they had serious reservations instead of rolling out the circus and declaring "The Deal of the Century". TBH the number of revisions still to be carried out will probably take a century.dingo wrote:The members will only support the CWU if we meet them in the workplace and explain the threats and tell them they will get a better deal on all of those issues if they support the union. I believe the majority of members will understand that but it will need face to face members meetings in the workplace. Of course Royal Mail will try and AT&T ract some to the sell off by saying what they will have as shares once the company has been rated at the end of April.

1- That potato is held firmly in place by all the Sh*t that RM & the CWU has heaped onto my back & sholders
2- I am a supporter of the CWU, BUT not of how it is being used by the leadership who for some reason seem to believe everything Moya says.
3- 10+ years ago the union would have looked at what RM managment wanted, and said NO if it wasn't to the members benifit. Now it seams that whatever Moya wants, she gets. Billy doesn't know how to draw a line in the sand !
4- Over the last few "DEALS" we have lost almost every allowance & perk that people before us had fought for & lost money standing on the line to defend.
5- Not many unions broker a deal that INCREASES WORKLOAD & DECREASES TAKEHOME PAY, and then sells it to the membership as a good deal
Whats the point in standing firm on the line, when we now know that the result will be a repeat of the BT2010 deal.
The members stood firm, but the leadership gave in.
When your facing the enemy on the front line, but your own generals are shooting you in the back....what do you expect us to do ? take whatever we get and say thank you ?
You've often said that senior members of the CWU won't come on here because of all the stick they get.
Well they ought to face the members.....After all, what they decide to put into the agreements has a DIRECT affect on the members at the bottom.
At least YOU have the decency to come on here and defend your corner......what about the rest of them ?
Its no good coming out of the woodwork 3 YEARS after a failed deal...a pattern should have been detected within 12 months. Instead we have had "joint statement" after "joint statement" but nothing has changed on the ground. If a b&H survey had been carried out 2 years ago we could have solved a lot of the members problems before it got to its current levels. Remember what was said....Roger Poole would meddiate any problems that might arise...what's ACAS got to say for itself now ?
I'm afraid that the CWU are like the LibDems, in a coalition with the nasty party.
The CWU need to get back to basics - PROTECTING the members from the employers attempts to degrade T&C's
Cut Of King , you have one huge potato rather then chip on your shoulder.
I have no illusions that members have seen more change in the last 3 years then they have seen for the last 20. All be it there is still 30 million in outstanding lump sums which indicates a lot have seen very little change in those 3 years.
How you view the union varies , if you believe the union had a veto on door to door into workload , a veto on CSS sequencing which meant longer Saturdays , a veto on CDVs and delivery methods and a veto on the use of geo route and the IWT then of course you will hate the CWU.

Re: Pay
before working for Royal Mail I can't see the use of unions, now I worked for Royal Mail and can see there is a need for union but had been disappointed with them in last 5 years.
I agree with the comment above about going back to basic.

Which would also involve members sticking together, for a change to challenge RM at local level.
It can too easy sometimes to blame the Union(of which we are) instead of the two headed monster that is RM,ready to renege on any deal agreed.
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

Re: Pay
I would rather work in a company with a union than without.
Privatisation--------
Min wage.
Min holiday.
No sick pay.
Less voice/no power at all to challenge change.
Little Hitler managers even more powerful/arrogant and condescending.
Think what you like of HQ, yes, the Back to the future deal was crap, basically because RM didn't stick to their side of the bargain, unsurprisingly.
We are also suffering from a plague that is workplace B/H and a ruthless cost cutting company, but most of British company's are attacking workers rights. Thanks Thatcher.
At least for the moment we have a union--imagine it without!
It's down to us to collectively say RM, we have had enough to your B/H, and put in loads of complaints per office.
Here's your evidence Greene--now sort it.
