A rumour by our DOM is that there's a better than expected pay rise on the cards but with the proviso that we take up to 12 DTD items a week! Nothing to back this up tho' so...pinch of salt recommended.

The fact they can barely get an averge of 3/week suggests your DOM is making it up as he goes along.

It is a pay cut in every sense of the word if it's BELOW inflation. We have been getting reduced wages for 3 years - inflation was running at 4.8% some months last year. Here's to another year of pay cuts.

Yes, I think most of us do. I'm also pretty sure you'll find that inflation is higher. The rate you quoted is the one used by government to show it isn't that bad. The real rate is about 4.5% or higher. I think the actual reality is that household expenditure is up by 25% in the last 5 or 6 years, wages by 6/7%. It's a real terms pay cut. But we, and most other working class people have suffered these for a while, and I can't see it changing any time soon.

...and the limit was 6 different items. Anyway, yeah, our DOM is pretty 'imaginative' when it comes to facts! :)

That wasn't a limit - it was a planning exercise/tool.

The cap was removed as part of the BT2010 http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ed#p356580" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - but the removal was staggered for around 6 months - there is no cap anymore

To coincide with the introduction of the national agreement unit payments will cease and the 3 items per week cap will be removed.

In order to provide clarity Branches should note that the previous cap (3) on D2D contracts was officially removed on the 7th June 2010 when D2D was moved into workload. However it was agreed that there would be no big bang approach and that the increase would be carefully managed to allow people to adjust to increased volumes and the individual requirement to deliver the items. This approach resulted in the level of contracts being lifted to 6 with effect from the 3rd January 2011
