Not claiming overtime as been told its just the nature of the job.
To an extent is is, soooo many offices would be in deep doo doo if no one was prepared to do overtime.

That said you are entitled to be paid for every extra minute you do - we are paid employees, no pay = no work

if you don't want to work any extra and finish on time, all you have to do is let them know before you leave the office how much you are unlikely to be able to deliver, the Dom should then make a decision about what to do with the remainder.

the only real exception to this is Christmas where we all need to show a little good will.
certainly in my office everyone is expected to work that little bit harder and go the extra mile (or 5) to get everything out and delivered
BUT THE OT IS ALWAYS PAID!!!!

Not claiming overtime as been told its just the nature of the job. I'm employed on the 30hr contract. Start at 8 so should finish at 2pm, not sure how I'm supposed to finish by 2pm and fit a 30 min break in somewhere. It just doesn't add up. I was sold a part time job at interview !!
You are being had over, everyone is entitled to finish at their contract finish time or get paid overtime for going over, including getting an extra 10min meal relief if you go past 7/9/11 hours (as you are contracted for 6 per day with 30min m/r standard).
