Re: 8th april joint statement
Most reps should have a copy of it on the NE area. Was rolled out today with some reps/managers meeting to discuss it. If I was a rep i'd be quoting from it from tomorrow morning at 6.30am. I would be meeting dom as well to discuss how they go about stopping ALL the early starters and making sure ALL have breaks as in the document. Its our there folks so use it.

Tread carefully or you could find yourself on a bullying charge.obscurityknocks wrote:I would be meeting dom as well to discuss how they go about stopping ALL the early starters and making sure ALL have breaks as in the document.
1.You or your manager can't stop members coming in early.
It's possible that you could keep them away from the work area but that will be difficult to monitor without using managers as security guards and we don't want that.
2. You cannot force members to take a break, again you can remove them from the work area but this is only really effective if everyone is on the same break schedule and again who will "police" it.
3. Failure to adhere to either should never be a conduct issue,I know this might not sit well but at the end of the day it's not our place to encourage managers to conduct members in a situation like this.

It's just going to be a waste off time. Your never stop the joeys from working for royal fail for free and destroying there jobs.
They are just as bad as managers if not worse.
Union should be kicking them out of union.

Re: 8th april joint statement
tread carefully the ones who dont take breaks and who start early
they are also the ones who dont return to office and job and finish early
so beware the old green with envy brigade if you are caught in the house well before stopping time
someone will shop them always do and they better not look for my help or support when they get theirs

Re: 8th april joint statement
Is there any point having a joint statement with issues around early starters and none taking off breaks when really the rep and manager can't really do anything about it. I worked in a factory some years ago and no one started before their time as gaffer didnt allow it and why would we anyway. Barmy.

Re: 8th april joint statement
Say it gets enforced and posties started claiming extended delivery O/T or working to there time. How long would it take for Dims to throw that agreement out of the window. Er I go for one day at the max.

Sorry, these joint exercises at local level are a complete waist of time. DSM says, this is how it should be along with the Area Rep and we all fall back to the same s**t when we return to the office.
They are coming to take us away

Re: 8th april joint statement
a few years ago we had a short time of not letting anyone in no earlier than 5 minutes from their start time. eg 2 guys in early starts as normal getting things sorted then about half of the other guys would try and come in later on about half an hour before their official start time. was like a scene from shaun of the dead with the zombies trying to get into the Winchester.fishtank wrote:Tread carefully or you could find yourself on a bullying charge.obscurityknocks wrote:I would be meeting dom as well to discuss how they go about stopping ALL the early starters and making sure ALL have breaks as in the document.

Re: 8th april joint statement
Very simplistic k9, they would come in anyway, not clock in and then clock in on their start time - as for clocking out...............you'd think P&L would eliminate that but it doesn't seem to in many cases - oh well it is what it is.k979aaa wrote:Clock in and Out will sort this all out and stop royal mails fraudulent activity's once and for all.

Re: 8th april joint statement
Keep the gates closed until starting time is the simplest solution, they sometime do that in some non RM work places.

Re: 8th april joint statement
so is this what is says in the joint agreement or are you assuming? we will have to wait and see what and how it will be rolled out and yes we should encourage managers to conduct members who come in early, take no break and come back early as they are taking jobs out of every office up and down the country. Fish, please support common sense as i and all the people on here respect your comments.fishtank wrote:Tread carefully or you could find yourself on a bullying charge.obscurityknocks wrote:I would be meeting dom as well to discuss how they go about stopping ALL the early starters and making sure ALL have breaks as in the document.
