Postal strike hits final tickets

DUE to postal workers strike action the RFL is warning Vikings fans that they may have to collect their Grand Final tickets from Headingley.

The Communications Workers Union is planning two lots of strike action within the next fortnight.

The first strike action will start this Thursday 4 October lunchtime until lunchtime Saturday 6 October. Workers will then strike again from the early hours of Monday 8 October until the early hours of Wednesday 10 October.

As a result the RFL is offering the following information to supporters: All tickets bought before lunchtime on Monday October 1 from the RFL Ticket Office will be despatched as normal in the post and should arrive before Thursday's first strike action.

Any tickets bought after lunchtime on Monday 1 October will not be posted and must be collected from the Headingley stadium ticket office on Sunday. The ticket office will be open from 10am.

The RFL is urging fans to arrive early at Headingley Carnegie to collect their tickets.

Due to the sheer number of calls to the RFL box office at present by people trying to buy tickets, supporters are requested not to contact the RFL about undelivered tickets until Thursday lunchtime.

Alternatively, supporters who have yet to buy tickets for Sunday are encouraged do so from the ticket office at Widnes Vikings rather than the RFL.

I haven't missed a game this season home or away, so I don't think I'll bepaying too much attention to a couple of armchair Cas fans on here!

Anyway, add your comments here!

There should be 16 teams mate. Two good games against Whitehaven this season. Best away game has to be Batley. One of the friendliest set of supporters going, a beer garden behind the main stand and a very good local band playing everything from The Beatles right through to The Jam and Green Day. I've got my tickets for Sunday. Should be a couple of good games. It's a pity the Oldham v Featherstone Rovers game isn't on the box as well.

The Bramley v Featherstone Lions game should be a good game. Nice to see Bramley going again after their troubles a few years ago.
