If we lose this strike you can kiss goodbye to being able to feed your family on Rm wages.

You will need a second job.

Come to think of it you will probably need a third.

And the large wife will need to work as well.

Get the kids out doing a paper round and they can do a couple of chimney's on the round.

Come on lads our parents and grandparents starved and went to prison to get workers rights we enjoy today, don't let :cfo and :lfo take that away. What would they think if they could see you now?they would turn in their graves.

we choose to strike you dont whats the problem, the problem is your a {personal insult deleted by teebs} with no regard for your work colleauges.i suppose your gonna plead poverty, well thats bollocks .i dont believe one of those people who play that card. forinstance if you lost your job would you starve, no of course not ,you would just have to juggle your money around and get on with it,which is what most people who work for RM and actually have a pair of bollocks and respect for there work mates are doing. next war we get, please dont share my trench.but hey dont worry we will fight for your rights and job. you make me puke.

They have not been loosing out on pay by doing this but encouraging others out to do so.
Do you facts to prove that allegation otherwise you may have left yourself open to a claim for deformation of character,
In English and American law, and systems based on them, libel and slander are two forms of defamation (or defamation of character), which is the tort or delict of making a false statement of fact that injures someone's reputation. "Defamation" is however the generally-used term internationally, and is accordingly used in this article where it is not necessary to distinguish between "libel" and "slander".

As a fairly balanced person I can usually see both sides of an argument - but on this occasion I just can't. What Royal Mail are asking us to except is on first sight ridiculous but then on closer inspection it turns out to be downright outrageous. If we can't give the union two periods of 48 hours to re-ignite serious talks betwwen the union and Royal Mail then we all might as well hand in our union cards and except whatever managemnet have in store for us.

Heard it last night at a union meeting. "I've got kids to support! Four days is too long. I can't afford it." What kind of arse uses their kids as an excuse to scab? My kids would die of shame if I said something like that. No one is saying it's going to be easy to get by on three days pay. Of course it will make life a bit hard in the short term, but as others have said, in the long term these vermin will screw us all if we don't stick together.
Get on the picket line and stop using your kids as an excuse to scab.

right on wild cat and others.

sounds like the rep wasn't arguing he was going to break the strike but to be honest if someone in his or her position is justifying others crossing picket lines that is hugely damaging to say the least, who else will hold the line to the bitter end if not the rep?

In our office people are sayilng they cant afford it etc and sure enough there are some with their backs to the financial wall, loan shark companies on to them etc. We have tried to sort them out by saying we'll do collections etc for those who really come up with a bill they cant pay. but there are more who just want to keep their lifestyle going, whose partners work, etc who are saying we need to be nice and if people cant strike then we should not be harsh to them. Well we should always keep the door open but never stop arguing against them never stop arguing the seriousness of what their doing, and keep arguing that they should change their ways and support their workmates and brothers and sisters in the union. For a rep to cave in and say that is terrible. Now is the time to be firm with those who are wobbling. :so there

There certainly is a rumour they will do that. I doubt any of us will know until the week ending 8 Oct. If we pick up a full week's pay, we'll know what they have planned and we'll have to make sure we make it last. Put nothing past the scum.

jlo You need not worry unduly. I will fight FOR YOU and hopefully you will receive the benefits if (and when) we win. If not you have not lost out and I (and many others) have. This way you can keep your selfish views and gloat. It is the easiest position to say "I do not believe in striking", because you know some other person will. One day you will need your colleagues and they will have long memorysImage

im actually getting bored with people coming on here saying i cant afford to strike i have kids, morgage etc etc surely tbt you can see that this will stir up a hornets nest?why should these leeches get the same deal as the people that support the strike and lose money?i actually think they are spineless and should be thrown out of the union,a rep going against what 77% voted for is wrong and he should resign immediatley.also you dont have to be a moderator if you get bored with editing posts, lets hope this site doesnt turn into another postmanscab site where you cant say what you think without fear of getting banned!

See that's perfect imho you called a group spineless not an individual, that is an opinion not a insult. But calling someone a spineless c*** is not on.

As for the rest of the post . :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause spot on agree 100%.
Postmanshat - Difference here is we let everyone have an opinion whether pro or anti union, but I reserve the right to edit or delete post that go against the rules. Best advice is not too personally abuse individuals and then I'll be happy. I have deleted 1 post in 10 months and have only edited a few posts over the last 3 days, and I don't enjoy doing it I want to get and give information just as this forum was designed to do.
