OK... lets have some details from any Swindon mail centre staff. I understand that overtime fiddle was (is) long running issue in Swindon mail centre i-e in weekend shift. Romour is that atleast 24 postpersons are under investigation but so for one shift manager and 3 postpersons got the chop.

'twas an ex-Oxford manager on weekends.

He was given the choice of resign or face prosecution apparently - I'd have prosecuted regardless.

Previously he's reckoned himself to be safe enough to get away with anything owing to having too much dirt on people, clearly not got as much as he thought.

3 confirmed staff out the door, the rest facing looking into are an ever changing number with rumours.

Turn up, sign in, bugger off home kind of fraud - presumably with the manager taking cash to let them do it.

Overbooking OT hourage was commonplace at a very large London MC amongst managers at weekends for many years ... they justified it to themselves when the highly lucrative OT rates were thrown away by the CMA and although it was blatant fraud there was never a manager brought up on a discipline charge.

Police raided his house, confiscated his laptop, mobile phone and found over £100000 ( one hundred thousands) cash . Its NOT a crime to keep so much cash in the house but police wants to know where the hell this cash come from ??
