Tommo, you're full of it. You have no understanding of the situation managers are in. You ignorantly tar all managers with your prejudices. I respect myself because I did vocally stand up for what I believe in - and senior management tried to screw me by any means necessary to silence me. The vast majority of managers I knew shut up, put up, and did as they were told. THAT'S a lack of backbone.

If I were a jellyfish I'd kotow to you. But I'm not. I bet this must really piss you off that an Ex-manager not only has the balls to say what he thinks, but also proves you wrong, because you think all managers are brainless corporate lackeys. In the meantime you go around in an apoplexy of foaming rage that I dare answer back. Well, tough. If you had a back bone you'd talk to YOU Rmanagers the way you talkj to me. But instead you hide behind the anonymous veil of the internet saying to me what you wish you had the balls to say to others. Pathetic.

At least I told them what I think to their faces and with my name on. You're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. You rage on and on ... but you never come up with any ideas for how to fix it - short of killing all managers and dancing on their graves. How very 1917.
if tommo was in the position at work to tell you spineless morons what utter pr**s you are iam sure he would. we have a union rep suspended for just that reason. today i watched her walk into the office no rep no colleague all on her own. she sat in the office and waited for the screw to come in. she sat for best part of an hour until the fat dum arrived to tell her to leave.
my colleague was having a fag and asked wot was going on. she exchanged small talk but refused to be drawn on wot's going on.
i do know that she stood up to you useless faceless spineless gits.oh sorry managers.
do not come that hard done by s**t to us posties. you probably never delivered a letter in your life. as for striking you just dont have the balls.
fixing the problem is easy. in our office last xmas one line manager ran the office 100 staff one lm.
mmmm summer 12 people on leave 3 lm's useless they sat and laughed about eveyone and everything. sack 2 of them. only 38,998 to go
floating postie.

Frankie,

I did the same as you to my manager. And what they did to you, they did to me. And worse (as far as I can tell). They're cowards with a bit of power. My crime was asking questions and pointing out areas the business could do with changing. All they did was crucify me by any means necessary.

I'm sure some of you will enjoy the thought of a manager getting screwed over by his manager. Shame. When I was a manager I never screwed anyone over, never disciplined anyone, never put anyone on any Conduct Codes, or any of that nonsense. They were good people and worked hard and did a good job and I did my best to explain to them all fully why we were doing what we were doing and what we were looking for. As long as the job was done, how people work is irrelevant.

It's clear that everyone is expendable, everyone is treated like crap, everyone is a target if they dare step out of line and no-one is not exempt from bullying, harrassment, and so forth. Don't think they are : they aren't. If a manager dares value professionalism and ethics over kowtowing to the official policy they too get sacrificed.

So much for the Bullying & Harrassment nonsense. Unless they're prepared to bring in a crack squad SAS Style to eliminate with maximum prejudice the bullies I think they're failing. I just wanted to get on with my work without the BS and the politics.

Anyway, since I don't work there anymore, I can't take it as passionately as I used to. The Union are very much on my side and things are getting very serious in getting resolved. That day in court may yet happen. Management aren't the only ones who can play hard.
