I got this email aswell, very frustrating as I have taken 3 weeks off missing 60 hours of work as they said I had to take all my holiday, this means I have lost out on bout £600. I think this is unfair as others would of continued working and will get there holiday pay on top off normal wages

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Should have been sorted out months ago! Between them Angard and RM got to the right answer eventually but far too late for those who were forced to take a lot of holiday or lose it

I think everyone has been forced to take holiday because of the way they have been telling us what we had to do. I have booked 1 to 2 days per week since the beginning of the year in order to book up what I had earned. One of the poor aspects is I am not aware of anyone who was officially informed in writing of what the rules were - before and after the recent change. I learnt everything by heresay then asked Angard to confirm the rules - which verbally I think they have to some extent. Nothing was ever put in writing to me. It was hinted to look at their website on or around the 28th February when they had failed to pay my previous week's holiday request. I never received the e-mail that some have confirming what was said on the website - some people at work do not have access to the internet and they never got anything.

Yes, thinking about it, I booked some holiday I wouldn't have otherwise....so in effect missed some shifts I could have taken. Really a letter to all employees was called for.
