SA's over the strike
Ok firstly sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but here goes....
As far a the Thursday goes do we do our afternoon SA as the start time is after the 12:00pm IA start time ? its been suggested that we do them as the mail will go nowhere and the SA money will help with the 4 days lost ? Also on the Tuesday do we do them even if we are out in the morning as they are after the 12:00pm IA finish time ? Just trying to see what others think as 4 days lost pay is going to hurt and this might soften the blow. Oh and by the way I don't have any SA's anymore jacked them in some time ago, just asking as this might help some of my fellow brother/sister make their mind up as to go in or stay out.

I may be wrong but if you follow the Unions lines SA after Thursday 12.00 is a No No.
However SA after 12.00 on Tuesday would be fine as the strike is officially over.

Yes I'd have to agree but if the mail will go nowhere as it did last time then what harm can it do to the cause. With the last lot of strike when we were all out on different days the mail was brought back to the DO and left there over night as no one would take it to the mail center as they were out on strike that day. Just trying to get some of those that might go in a bit more money and hope they stay outTrueBlueTerrier wrote:I may be wrong but if you follow the Unions lines SA after Thursday 12.00 is a No No.

sorry but just trying to sway those that claim not to be able to afford to strike, just wanted to give them something to take there mind's of the 4 days loss of pay. As I said don't affect me and I've been out since day one and been on the picket for all but one day of those days with hot food for all at my cost. We have had the numbers slowly increasing in our office so just racking my brains as to things that might keep more out !dvbuk55 wrote:I know we criticise the union for non-communication but I sometimes wonder if it is worth their while.

Yes sorry about your lack of pay and no SA to bump it up I hope at the end of this we all get the raise we want and agreeable terms. The thing is some in our office get to rely on all the OT and SA's and use this as a reason to go in as it's not just the 4 days it's OT and SA as well. Keep the faith and good luckevilc wrote:Just explain to them that where I work at plymouth mdec who are the lowest paid in royal mail some there are still taken 4 days out and they never get s/a.John_McC wrote:evilc wrote:strike does not finish until 0300 hrs wednesday morning, so no sa until wednesday.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I may be wrong but if you follow the Unions lines SA after Thursday 12.00 is a No No.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
