hello all seen two posts on here today one about parcelforce payrise talks and one about quadrant pay rise talks, no news about us posties supposed payrise in april anyone heard any news, see our union are living upto there title again communticating !!! if theres nothing to tell then why can they not just tell us that instead of keeping everyone in the dark seems everything is a big secret till they want us to strike then they cannot spill the beans quick enough

As ever HQ/RM are leaving matters late in the day to begin such talks. HQ will have a mammoth task in mobilising the troops this time around and that needs to start now and work in tandem with any pay talks. Royal Mail may say otherwise but we know from previous experience that RM does not take its staff seriously until there is a major impact on the business. One thing that must be for certain - no calling off of any action, strike-related or otherwise, until an agreement is reached on pay.

We have to draw a line under the last two pay deals and start afresh - carrying deadwood into new negotiations will result in another mish-mash where a deal promises a lot but delivers little.

Upon proposals from Government and Bank of England to consider negative inflation. Royal Mail as always at the forefront of fantastic ideas, has decided to adopt the policy for this years pay issue. As of 1st of April 2013 your pay will be deducted 2%. The savings made will be squandered on more World Class Bullsh"t, and finance additional managerial bonuses. An additional voluntary scheme will be set up for additional contributions to help the company.

Well we shouldn't advocate that because we don't know whats round the corner especially in the next 12 months let alone 3 years. It's just the union tossers being too lazy to negotiate every year.

I can see the logic behind it even if I think its the wrong move.

They want a cast iron 3 year deal that continues after privatisation - thats probably okay if its a share issue and we have the same management structure in place.

But if its a buy out then they new owners will ignore it and rip up the deal.

If they do get a 3 year deal lets hope its not target related and that most of the rise is in the first year - NO LUMP SUMPS though for gawd's sake.
