Fair point - but if EVERYONE did the job as it should be done ie work your hours, use the correct methods and tools for the job, adhere to safe systems of work, take your meal breaks and RA allowance, work at a pace you can maintain for your attendance span (75Bs), only work overtime if it is authorised and paid for, then pressure would be brought to bare without the loss of ££££s in wages. PLUS report every instance of bullying and harassment or undue pressure by management.

You see Budfrog the options you quote are available NOW and in every office in the land, what the stumbling block is, is persuading the troops that that is THE option.Not only are people not adhering to the BT 2010, they are not adhering to their own local arrangements with the DM model and there is no move either locally or nationally to arrange meetings to point out that this IS the cost effective way. You know the old saying about leading the horse to water....

It is a dilemma indeed, but sadly, as so many have written, the response from HQ is 3 years too late. BT 2010 has been distorted and abused at local level by the management since day one and HQ's response, in the main has been feeble -inadequate support has been offered and thumping the table demanding this and that and threatening strikes now is too late. The BT2010 battle has mainly been lost.

However, we have one issue to fight them on that I feel would get excellent support from the membership, embarrass the hell out of a wretched employer, possibly get good public support and, if successful, disable one of Royal Mail's biggest weapons. The issue of course is bullying and harrassment. That is one struggle we CAN win with suitable organisation and determination. Let's concentrate on that.

This is a personal opinion but i honestly don't think HQ has the stomach for a fight over bullying and harassment in delivery,i look at the comms coming from the top and that issue seems to have been pushed further and further down the agenda.

Mixing and muddling it up with other issues is a big mistake in my mind because concessions will be given in the name of the "greater good" as was the case in 2010 when RM were allowed to backslide on their commitment to bring in an independent review of B&H.

The truth is what do we think would come out of it even if RM agreed to address the problem?

If the general public did know about the b&h we have to endure, then maybe RM would be forced to put measures in to address this. The current bonus scheme for doms encourages b&h to achieve unrealistic performance targets. The grievance procedure is a sham. Local doms sitting in judgement on other doms ie their mates. I took out a grievance against my dom 18 months ago...still no conclusion. We need these b&h issues to be more widely known outside RM. I suggest send an email to your local MP, write to your local newspaper. Do whatever you can think of to broadcast the disgraceful treatment we have to endure on a daily basis. Its a scandal that has to be made known to the general population. Shame these bastards. They know it goes on and their policies openly encourage it. They cannot be allowed to continually get away with it and make so many of our lives a daily misery. We should stop bowing our heads and accepting the pain and fight back against this shameful behaviour.

Incidentally, Ian Murray MP is the Shadow Business Minister for postal affairs. He can be emailed and he also has a twitter account. I've just messaged him. Yes it may not work but I for one refuse to accept the current situation with b&h without making a lot of noise about it. Who else?

I have emailed Jo Swinson, Minister for employment relations/postal affairs, and informed her of the culture in Royal Mail and personal B&H received over last few years. Have asked her to raise this in the House and also with Moya Greene and to contact Bob Gibson or Dave Ward if she requires information on the 800+cases raised with the union. Lets all get writing and get the profile of this raised wherever we can. I agree, enough is enough and we cannot rely on CWU anymore.
