Management only do"IN HOUSE" when it suits them!!!
If everyone is Serious about stamping out bullying lets get an online petition and send it to Moya,Dave and Billy.
TrueBlueTerrier would be able to give us advice on that if its worth while or not?? :nana
Budfrog said a good thing though get it in the media or some press coverage and let the public know how the postal workers are treated all over the country.

I would say most of the people who dont claim overtime because they are afraid is pt workers ,short term contracts etc .Lads come in and straight away the do will say now you should finish x duty in your time Straight away the casual doesnt know any better .So when he is late he thinks its his fault so comes in earlier doesnt take his break just to get finished .The casuals fear that there contracts will be finished and will do anything and the dos know this The dos use a diffrent tactic on ft , well when your floater is on your duty he finishes an hour earlier ,look at all them empty slots you shouldnt be claiming ,mail volume is down, weve heard it all before and my answer is come out and test it and the usual answer is havent got time ;liar

Ballot for Industrial Action on the issue of Bullying and Harassment alone. The public will back this more than they would back a pay strike.

Make sure the campaign reminds the public that Andy Coulson bullied a disabled sports journalist when he worked for News of the World.

"The original source of the hostility towards the claimant [Driscoll] was Mr Coulson, the then editor of the News of the World; although other senior managers either took their lead from Mr Coulson and continued with his motivation after Mr Coulson's departure; or shared his views themselves."

Cameron should have been aware of this before inviting Coulson to work at Downing Street. Coalition changes to employment law have made it easier for the bullies to feed their addiction. The Prime Minister's spin-doctor was a bully.

I would agree an online petition ,

I was in a meeting with a return to work manager and he condoned that Royal Mail B/H :whistle

So my reply was mine does and that is why a grievence /B/H has gone in , he then replies that no manager likes a case hanging around there heads . but it is alright for this manager to b/H me for the last 18 months , he then tried to sidestep it and said it had to wait for the case to be heard.

In answer to someone else, this B/H from RM is not aimed at P/T a lot of folks F/T are scared in claiming O/T or cutting Off and a lot of us have done over 20yrs service. I have wrote to linda Roy, Bob Gibson, phoned harrassment line, what more can you do, except now I am off with depression over it all. but I wont give up the fight or what i think is right.

Classisc case One manager high up above dom status,( last week in an interview) says one thing to me as an agreement and someone else mainly my don refutes the agreement. :arrrghhh

This needs to stop and agree that maybe ourselves should now do something it suprising now with internet/facebook how much this can be put out to other posties and on here

A Govr ePetition may be a good starting point:

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the wording would need to clearly define what the aim of the petition is and there would need to be some kind of communication exercise to make staff who do not visit these forums aware of its existence to widen the audience.

A potential problem would be that the author and signatories could attract unwelcome attention (and B&H) on themselves.

Any thoughts?

Possible wording:

A recent survey by the Communication Workers Union has indicated that there is a culture of bullying and harassment by managerial grades in Royal Mail Delivery Units.

There is evidence to suggest that senior managers within Royal Mail are unwilling to accept that widespread problems exist despite evidence to the contrary and have failed to reprimand employees in a meaningful manner even when successful bullying and harassment cases are proved.

The current investigation systems within Royal Mail are flawed and are no longer fit for purpose due to a total lack of objectivity. The penalties that are issued to those found guilty offer no deterrent and many staff members are reluctant to raise cases through fear of future retribution.

This ePetition requests the government launch an independent investigation in bullying and harassment within Royal Mail. The scope of the investigation needs to cover all functions, areas and grades (excluding Parcelforce and Post Office Ltd). The report and full implementation of recommendations would need to be complete before any form of privatisation is concluded.

If there were sufficient signatories, I think the opposite effect may take place. I think they may be very cautious about who they intimidate for fear of implication. I think in the first place, a letter to Bob Gibson, informing that if he and the CWU do not act with immediate effect, then the signatories are prepared to go public with this outrage. May stimulate some stirring within the rank and file of the union.

None that I am aware of - but Postman has the FINAL and ABSOLUTE decision.

As to the petition it would have to an off site one to protect peoples anonimity on here. Also it would have to be a volunteer for the same reasons. Anyone willing to do it would have to think long and hard about possible implications both good and bad, they would, I suggest, also have to get some high level interest outside of both the Union and Royal Mail for it to have any impact. It sounds like a lot of work to make it successful and whilst I would be willing to sign and promote it, not sure if I personally would have the free time needed to keep the momentum going for such an important project. Well that and the fact that I wouldn't be able to keep you lot in line at the same time. :whistle :whistle

This site could provide a valuable sticky link to the ePetition and by doing so would not be taking ownership as such.

Personally I believe the individual who posts the ePetition itself should do so anonymously for obvious reasons - however I have just read the T&C on the Govt site and the sponsor does need to provide his/her real name which appears at the bottom of the petition.

For the time being maybe getting a consensus as to whether or not it is a good idea and if so possible content would be a good idea.

As for time, once it's drafted and uploaded it's just down to Comms.

I'm afraid the odds are/seem to be against us,1st of all 100,000 signatures are needed, then there is the below,a very high profile CWU campaign...
The CWU and other organisations have a No 10 Downing Street petition calling for Government action on irresponsible dog ownership.
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/22631" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Personally i don't think we need a petition, what we need is our colleagues to stick together and to look out for one another.
That is well versed on here, but seems to have gone AWOL outside the RMC bubble.

Unfortunately we work with w*****s,the Blue shirted variety as well as the Primark scum.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
