It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So we strike and they still do as they want? i wud of thought the strikes wud have held these things up until we came to a agreement? Those people who r duty holders wont be happy and people who get xmas tips as in another thread i put on will loose an awful lot , so no payrise, no tips, more work and no extra money!! what is going on!!!! its a pity we cudnt call a strike ongoing till they give us a fair deal!!!!chief wrote:A week tomorrow. BUT saying that,no doubt the DIM'S have been briefed on the flexibility shite.
And RM have said that they are going ahead with their bits,so it can't be far off, they're implementing everything else!!!

Flexibility is here - now
I think the later starts are a foot in the door for "flexibility" - already we have had changes in weekday hours railroaded through by a crafty DOM and an uninterested rep with the complicit assistance of staff who only see the words "shorter saturday" and do not realise the implications of having weekday hours adjusted to suit the business as a payoff. There will be no leaving the duty before 3 o'clock on some days to get the kids from school - no extended delivery payments until after dark - day off working that will become an afternoon job - and lots of "oh, your walk won't take you 'til that time - here have a row of this one as well - for free !!!POSTMAN wrote:That's later starts,Mad is talkin flexibility.chief wrote:A week tomorrow. Re: Flexibility is here - now
We presently have a shorter Saturday (05:00 to 11:00) but as Royal Mail's new hours are based on 06:15 to 14:15 on each of the six delivery days for our office we were offered a chance to keep the Saturday shorter by moving time to other days, which of course would be specified by the management.POSTMAN wrote:I don't understand the "shorter saturday" malarkey!!rhino49 wrote:I think the later starts are a foot in the door for "flexibility" - already we have had changes in weekday hours railroaded through by a crafty DOM and an uninterested rep with the complicit assistance of staff who only see the words "shorter saturday" and do not realise the implications of having weekday hours adjusted to suit the business as a payoff.
