There are no written agreements.
Even now when there are no comprehensive agreements (such as the one being thrashed out at the moment), it is agreed in principle in BT2010.
The new agreement is just a rehash of the old agreements anyway, everything should be going through IR framework, national generic trial framework, national generic deployment framework, change involvement etc
All the new agreement is doing is spelling it out in plain english that the above must be complied with at all times.
The Mail Centres next WCM audit will be on Friday 3rd August and will be attended by Dr Hajime Yamashina who is the founder of the WCM initiative. There will be a lot of WCM activity within the Mail Centre leading up to the audit.*
* Meaning a lot of staff in on the Thursday evening with brushes and mops, and the Night Crew being lectured on NOT to leave a mess and being TOLD to tidy up the work area instead of processing mail...
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
We're having an audit next week, never seen so many bins & brushes around the office, also told it would be nice if we could manage to put some polish on our shoes to impress the audit team.
Our Mail Centre next WCM audit is today Friday 3rd August and will be attended by Dr Hajime Yamashina who is the founder of the WCM initiative, Mark Higson and other leading Royal Mail Managerial figures.
The WCM "Brown Noses" were in our MC at 5am this morning armed with Brushes and Mops/Buckets....
Literally as soon as we'd dispatched the mail, they were turning all the machines off and attacking them with cleaning fluids - as well as moaning at us about the mess on the floor!!!
No doubt we'll find out tonight how the inspection went with Professor Nikon Kawasaki and other RM big-wigs!!!....
-edit-
Spoke to one of my colleagues who was on overtime this morning..... Apparently ALL staff were inspected to see if they had smart uniform on and polished shoes (as somebody else has posted).... Anybody who hadn't was sent home to change..
All the managers were walking around in suits.
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

There seem to be more blueshirts with clipboards wandering around chatting than people doing actual work. Some of them are the last people you might associate with signing up to WCM.
How much is this costing RM. or are they desperate for involvement at any price?
Mad Professor is visiting our MC again tomorrow...
People going mad on the floor with Floor Scrubbers and various polishes and wiping down walls...
All Posters are being ripped down if they are NOT to do with WCM, and posters are being strung up around the building about WCM....
We've even got to stop running OUR machine at 9am tomorrow and then 12 of us have to clean one of the ILSM's before it is "inspected" before the Professor arrives at 11am...
Worlds gone mad......

No doubt the hospitality budget will be tapped into again lets hope they don't recycle the uneaten sandwiches into the canteen like they did at Greenford (and they charged for them so it was win win).
Well we have just become a small brother of HWDC and HWDC has signed up to WCM big time so perhaps our time will come.
We have gone from being a sleepy backwater that quietly existed on the fringes of Royal mail operations to a small version of an international packets centre.
I shall therefore quietly wait for the arrival of a small Japanese gentleman wandering around checking under each toilet seat for dust.
Although he might be disappointed because our hospitality budget might only stretch to a Twix from the chocolate machine.
I spend my life trying to fit in but I always end up standing out.

HWDC MCM = Former GMC MCM hence the amount of focus on WCM ;)
Well we used to have a rest room upstairs that had a table and a few chairs and then all of a sudden over night it became some sort of world class mail shrine.
I mean every inch of wall space is covered with a poster that trumpets some area of the subject. I couldn't believe it when I walked in there the first time.
The room certainly won't need repainting anytime soon, you can't see any of the walls any more just loads of facts and figures that make absolutely no sense to me or any of my colleagues. Even the door has a ten pillars poster stuck to it.
Then of course you have the two jokers who gave us a lecture the other day. They have been in the business hardly any time at all and have absolutely zero operational experience. Where the hell do they find these people?
The two jokers gave us a brief chat and none of us knew what the hell they were talking about, a very wise use of company funds indeed.
I spend my life trying to fit in but I always end up standing out.
