Sick Pay/SSP
In my MC the rumour is that RM will not pay any one for the first period of sickness and we will have to sign on for SSP. Anyone heard anything about being off sick and the connection to pay in RM proposals?

Thanks Wakkona. As I suspected, this will come under 'Other issues' in Royal Mails proposed agreement. Such As Personal Performance, MTSF, New IR Framework and Attendance Procedures. This is where I start getting thitchy. None of these proposed changes have come into the public domain. Now the original talks have been abandoned by RM and executive action has started, surely our Leaders?? should let us know exactly what is being proposed!
When and if an agreement is reached I reckon we will be urged to vote for another Way Forward Agreement and we will all be p....ss.ed off again when we get to read the 'small print'.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The only way he knows -Asda/Walmart
With Asda , if you go sick your'e on a overtime ban for a fortnight . What staff do is claim benefits and state they are only on a low hours contract , then pile on the overtime until the next time their income is to be reassessed . They also do a thing called Time Theft that's from Walmart , somebody won £18K in a ET , the video showing taking his medication ,not scivving," mysteriously disappeared ". Asda tried a thing called Scrape-away in their Warehouses doing a preference exercise to do away with National Collective Bargaining with the GMB , the GMB took Asda to court and Asda were fined . This Scrapeaway was "just a idea" with ideas like sacking reps , the other story was calling people to the Office on the tannoy with Foreign Sounding names and threatening them with the sack if they couldn't produce Work Permits , UK passports etc. This was a response to all the graffiti after 9/11 "Listening to Our People "!>Leighton loves Walmart , 50 Law suits were taken out against them in the US re Labour Laws .RM have threatened a new tightened up Attendance Procedure for the last three years , in Jan 06 RM wanted it trialed " Our Right to manage " ! in the RM Battleplan PDF on another thread.POSTMAN wrote:This goes on at .......................................................................................................ASDAwakkono wrote:ive heard this its under the new attendace they want to bring in no pay for first 5 days of sickness full pay for 3 months after that

Only a complete numbnuts can get the sack at RM,how many chances do you want Stage 1,2and 3 and whats more you get PAID for being off sick, most firms make you have the 5days waiting period anyway.
You lot want to get in the real world.

The only ones who get sacked like that are the muppets who are already on dodgy ground in the first place, you no the types who can`t be arsed getting up on a Saturday morning,or the wifey is mithering them to come and do some shopping and take a few days off as HEY I GET PAID ANYWAY,then they actually get a proper ilness and then there in the shite.
How many people in your office have been heard to brag that they get 6 weeks off holiday and then stiff the business for a couple of weeks on the sick as they like to play the system.
