ANGRY neighbours are demanding to know why Royal Mail has not been delivering their post for the past few days when private parcel firms and the milkman have all been battling through.

There are some 50 flats and homes in Archery Fields, off Bridge End in Warwick.

And while the post has been delivered to houses in Bridge End, which has been gritted, Royal Mail say that the ungritted Archery Fields is not safe for their posties to walk along.

Resident David Howells, of Archery Fields, said: “It must be three or even four days now that we haven’t received any post.

“When one of my neighbours enquired he was told it was on health and safety grounds and that we would have to pick up our letters from the sorting depot.

“I find this absurd. Of course there’s snow on the ground - scarcely a new feature in the winter. But to cancel deliveries for three successive days is a ridiculous over-reaction when other delivery services, like milkman and varius private
delivery agents, have arrived as normal.

“Royal Mail does not seem to have much regard for its customers.

“You’d think they would seek to cultivate goodwill at a time like this - instead their reaction suggests the opposite.

“I know my neighbours also feel very strongly about this issue and have been trying to contact the man responsible for this decision - in most cases without success.”

Royal Mail spokesman Mike Norman said: “We
apologise to customers who are experiencing delays to their deliveries in the Warwick area as a result of the severe winter weather conditions there.

“A range of measures have been put in place to ensure deliveries reach people as quickly as possible.

“We are doing our utmost to ensure continued deliveries, but it may not be possible to do so everywhere because of the weather.”

Yes I do like it how these Silly old Tories like these two whom think the whole world revolves around them, they've probably worked in some sort of managment position in a nice warm office all their lives with a sad old wrinkley wife that stinks of "Nasty" perfume, wears Pearl beads and goes for a cut and blow dry with a pink rinse once a month in ones Mercedes Benz Car.

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

The "milkman" is more than likely a teenage kid and isn't really thinking about health&safety or the impact that a broken ankle might have on his job or family, the private couriers are paid by the delivery so their motivation is a little different to ours.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

'Archery Fields residents DH and AK cleared their paths for the postman, but he never came.'
'My wife had iced the fairy cakes and I'd ironed the doillys the night before so a 'no-show' is a bit inconsiderate.. '

In our area we never had a choice,go out , but Managers said dont go anywhere not safe ,but dont bring the whole delivery back!

Conditions were very bad,and very cold ,regardless of paths cleared or not many residential roads were lethal wich you have to go on before any residential path.

Some Irate residents Complained about posties walking on their garden and damaging their Plants ,even though they had not cleared any snow at all.

Conditions especialy later in week were very bad with ice more than snow .

I know of 1 guy who had a serious fall on the ice last week ,needed Hospital treatment and will be off work long term possibly not ever returning due to the nature of his accident he was following RM rules to the letter .

Somedays last week felt we either should not have gone out due to the ice .
