They stay the same but since their hourly rate is based on a full-timers and the full-timers hourly rate goes up because it is now pay rate divided by 39 rather than 40...part-timers get a pay rise to compensate.siddy wrote:hi do part timers have time taken of there daily hours or do they stay the same.24 hour contract.

Re: Shorter Working Week - LTB will be issued tomorrow after
It's got to be an hour off the end. That way, people who currently work to their time can claim an hour's overtime without changing their routine. This is what the CWU should have held out for.
You lot have been stitched. Your DOMs won't agree to an hour off the end of any single day so the disagreement will be passed on to those who don't have to face the members. The best of the 3 options available is duties finishing 12 minutes earlier 5 days a week. This is a national absorption agreement. Hours will be removed yearly until you are down to a 35 hour week doing a 40 hour workload.

Utter tosh indeed... Unless you believe the figures posted on the wall and then do the very simple math on expected and produced. And if you accept/believe that the target is 100% ; then we are at 120%mandelsons_toenail wrote:hampshireman wrote:My DO is at 120% BSI and our revision is due in the next two/three months.fishtank wrote:The baseline for indoor performance for revision planning is current performance(based on an average of the last 12 weeks) plus any jointly agreed scope for improvement.Ahebban wrote:Surely the calculation for adopting a DMR would over-ride any pre-DMR calculation?
The higher your EP going into a revision the higher it is coming out.
I fear this might be a problem

Utter tosh mate, no chance any office runs at these pie in the sky figures in the real world
It does show me a problem. But no one else can see it

A great deal of that extra "performance" could be down to uncredited indoor hours like starting early, skipping meal relief, prepping D2D in your own time, vacancies not being filled, not following the workplan etc.hampshireman wrote:Utter tosh indeed... You will get your chance to argue that case at phase one of the revision process "to ensure that the performance figure is a true representation of the actual performance for the unit"...to use their words.

Back to see our trustworthy boss who told us we couldnt finish 12 minutes earlier
and tell him that we will take that unavailable option, Thank you..

The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

The whole excersise was conducted on one thing only! The CWU strength in each office! I wonder if they picked up the negativity from this site. Now they can "pick off" an office by what they "imposed".
Regardless, you cannot run offices via "remote control". Fact! Has the relevant offices:
Organised?
News Letters?
Created Social network pages?
Used WTL sessions?

Not buying that drb.drb wrote:The whole excersise was conducted on one thing only! The CWU strength in each office!
Right from day 1 Royal Mail said no to banking the hour, long before any offices would have negotiated any deals.
When exactly do negotiators take responsibility for negotiations?
Only when things go well?
This was clearly not an issue to have a fall out over...Bob's words, not mine, once an employer realises that your negotiating position is compromised.
Pretty pathetic to blame the members when poor deals are negotiated,if the situation had been resolved when it should have been...when the agreement to bring in the SWW early was made there would have been no pressure on units to make agreements.
Managers spend all day with members,if they are picking up negativity from anywhere it's much more likely to be from there.I wonder if they picked up the negativity from this site.

Hi Fish,
I'm sorry,we will have to agree to disgree here,
The fact of the matter is the reps in the 540 odd offices where un-prepared. Training? Possibly! With the the risk of airing our dirty laundry in public here, I think there is that risk of reps and branches with the air of complacency. You only have to look at the the branch returns on the attendance procedure. Those reps and branches need to get their arses into gear!

Thats strange, according to Dingo it worked well for for mail centre staffno to banking the hour
I guess Delivery Workers are NOT worth looking after, unlike Mail Centre staffRe: Shorter Working Week - 28 Jan 2013

Now the CWUs postion is that we believe the hour should be banked each week until they introduce the revison. It worked in the mail centres and they had the choice of either SA or annual leave on what hours were banked.

Or what?drb wrote: Those reps and branches need to get their arses into gear!
They wanted a federal union, they got a federal union...and the weaknesses that go with it.
No point bitching about it now unless HQ is prepared to do something about it and impose some kind of top down accountability...
Are they?
I double doubt it drb.

Totally correct and it is only Indoor work at 120%fishtank wrote:A great deal of that extra "performance" could be down to uncredited indoor hours like starting early, skipping meal relief, prepping D2D in your own time, vacancies not being filled, not following the workplan etc.hampshireman wrote:Utter tosh indeed... The real problem , that makes the whole issue worse is the early starters etc etc. And the Job and Finish mentality that still exists. And is allowed to exist , along with Ghost Overtime in our DO. But if the office is cleared then who gives a F**k
Our revision is starting now. I stand back with amusement
