I hear talks are on ....

Post by felang13 »

As I understand it talks have gone on( RM and CWU ) since Friday and all weekend with Dave at the helm for the CWU, imlying the seriousness of the situation .Does any bod know anything more as this doesn't seem to be communicated widely ...or is this a case of RM insisting on secrecy AGAIN !...theve a cheek considering how they seem to always dictate the fomat of talks only to pull the rug away at the last mo....personally its all out, rolling strikes ... stay out.. talks deal for as long as you like ...p.s if your welsh ..your probably not having a good day ... but it was the best match so far by a long shot .

There are talks going on tomorrow. RM are on the back foot nevertheless it's important to keep the strikes alive at the end of the week.

The talks are indeed ongoing, with some kind of decision to be made tomorrow afternoon. Not looking too good though. Even Gordon Brown has stipulated that there is no cash available.

The thing is, this isn't about money. 2 1/2% we will all accept. Working for f**k all we won't.

The talks HAVE NOT gone on at the weekend.
RM wanted it Ward and others said BOLLOX we'll chat on Monday.

We hold the cards now,so now it's on OUR terms.

Very much doubt anything will be agreed on Mon.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

From what i know there HAVE been meetings over the weekend.
Also and more importantly there will be no calling off the strikes UNLESS there is a concrete offer which means we will be striking as RM are only playing for time as they always do.

If RM stick to demanding for what they've already outlined then there can not possibly be any agreement.

By pushing through 'executive action' RM are not showing any sign of softening their stance, and it is a million miles from the CWU position.

Sit tight and let the CWU do the job.

Talks on Talks off. Waht we all know is that RM will do all they can to con the workforce and CWU. We are due to strike again this week, and I and all the people I talk to are saying NO MORE after this. We will strike and we dont want to stop until there is a rock solid agreement that members have voted on. Anything else this time and the CWU will cease to exist. Any bargaining powers or influence will be lost forever. Members will definately leave in droves because the union will be extinct in the workplace. My plea to anyone with influence at the top "Make sure you get this right this time".
