Re: 40 hour week changed to 39 hour week...
Surely the only argument is how this is implemented?
If no agreement is made before the 28th how do RM lose, people will be working a 40hr week when they only have to do 39! Will pt workers refuse to accept the "massive" wage increase when it arrives in their pay packet? The whole thing is a farce and should never have got to this stage

Same in our office . it led to the wonderful statement " so we will have an hour less a week to do what we do not have enough time to do already ?"

Re: 40 hour week changed to 39 hour week...
Something like 30 minutes shorter on Mon/Tues finishing time, offsetting that early finishing time to a Thursday if we have Mon/Tues off would keep everyone happy? The hour is then lost from the quiter days withut giving the managers the headache of less "man hours" on a Saturday.
No doubt there will be OPGs who already need to cut off or get o/t authorised on Mon/Tues/Thurs, that is not our problem but is management's, they knew this 39 hour week was supposed to ke kicking in for almost 3 years and so walk sizes should have anticipated this.

So if we banked an hour a week then after 8 weeks they would owe us a days money or a days leave, correct
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Its so you cant cut off. If U do 39 hours but are getting paid 40 they will turn around and say U owe us an hour so go complete your duty. Its so obvious. They won't do it to part timers as we barely have enough time as it is now.krussel wrote:fishtank wrote:If it was on the table kruss but it isn't.krussel wrote:So if we banked an hour a week then after 8 weeks they would owe us a days money or a days leave, correct

Nope when you go to 39 hours you are paid for 39 hours not 40. They are giving you a 2.5% payrise for FT so you end up getting paid the same. PTimers get the 3.5% raise from 28 Jan 13 if not received already by way of a Unit revision.

I think you mean 2.5%TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Nope when you go to 39 hours you are paid for 39 hours not 40. They are giving you a 2.5% payrise for FT so you end up getting paid the same. PTimers get the 3.5% raise from 28 Jan 13 if not received already by way of a Unit revision.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: 40 hour week changed to 39 hour week...
weve had our revision, the hour comes off the start of mon and tue so its no benefit to anybody, and we don't get the time back when we have monday off so you end up working 39 1/2 hours every 4 weeks. we have floating mon, thur, fri, sat days off.
