Operational Modernisation

As part of our nationwide programme of operational transformation, we are making changes to our delivery arrangements in some offices this week (w/c 14 January).

These changes could include: a review of delivery routes, improved delivery equipment being brought into use or changes to the way in which we prepare mail for delivery. Customers may have started to see changes this week in the following areas:

Bungay - NR35
Caernarfon - LL54 & LL55
Chatham - ME4 & ME5
Ebbw Vale - NP23
Frodsham - WA6
Holbeach - PE12
Kyle - IV40, IV41, IV44, IV45, IV46, IV52 & IV53
Ludlow - SY8
Shipley - BD17 & BD18

Ours is due 4th of Feb!! We will see!! On another note, the are changing our start times from 6 to 6.45, with 13 days notice! Can they do this or they supposed to give 30 days in writing?

Have your office agreed to the revison and the start times , if they have then yes they can introduce the revison.

If your office has not and you have had no vote then you need to contact your area rep staraight away.

Nobody has agreed to the revision or the start times! It's just a massive farce! (Shock). Not had a vote, trying to get everybody to vote by show if hands on 1 in 4 or 1 in 6! Scaring ppl by saying if we vote 1 in 4 that we will lose 3 full time members of staff.

We were told that as well. Took us over a year to finally get 75% 1 in 4s as well as increase full time in office as well. Don't believe any manager that says it costs jobs. RM don't want staff to have it that's all.

Tank don't take this the wrong way but why is your office allowing Royal Mail to do this. For all the criticism about the national agreement and guidelines the agreement is a negotiation as is start times and the menu of options is in step 1 of the process. Yes improved attendances can alter the mix of full time staff but again the increase in indoor performance is a negotiation.

I would advise you to get in touch with your area rep , branch and divisional rep.

The agreement does not allow Royal Mail to introduce the agreement on their own It has a phase 4 joint sign off which should be subject to a vote of your office .

Caernarfon revision is not going to planners plan.........CWU said its not going too work......Fell on deaf years !!!
No vans.
One postman used his car to deliver a walk & parcels.
Frames not in sequence.
Double slots.
Loops coming back undelivered due to no time.
Van share no room in van.
No spare keys.
Loops unbalanced.
Indoor plan not adhered by managers.
No porters.
Throwing loads of O/T to clear daily.
Buy downs (24hr) allowed to stay on old delivery and not trained as floater to cover 1 in 4.
Managers still performing OPG work.
OMV fleet not roadworthy.
RM H&S Rep not seen since August with 3 major issues unresolved.
No Resource Meeting.
Last letter 8pm last week.
No training, just maps.
Cut-offs not delivered on the day, just put back in frame.
CWU Rep not back until next Monday had to take A/L to care for wife (post-op).

Ebbw Vale is not going to well either....

Only 50% of office is doing P&L now instead of all of it. The other half starts next week (a fortnight later)
Part timers still having to throw 75% of there rounds out
No one to cover if partner goes sick. The other partner has to take everything and deliver what they can
Some S.A's being cancelled due to being late back from delivery
Massive fails due to huge rounds
Set breaks not being enforced

Its what the business wants!
