remember prior to 2010 agreement national basic pay stood at £347.61 for a 40 hour week , basic pay which now includes the supplement now stands at £393.73 including the supplement. For the record pau went up in 2010 by 2% and 1.4% in 2011 and of course increase the permanent additon to basic pay.

3 times you mentioned the delivery supplement,not once did you mention what we lost(D2D and shift allowances).

This constant attempt to paint the best picture is just a lack of honesty with the members.
They can see right through it,they are not idiots and it's one of the reasons there is a basic lack of trust between the union and it's members at every level.
Treat the members like adults,people are sick of spin they know it when they see it,tell the full story,the bad bits and the good bits.
You'll be surprised how well the members actually take a bit of honesty,the union has done a reasonable job in protecting pay but that is undermined by it's attempts to shine it up to biblical proportions.

Fish I try to be honest , fact is not everyone had door to door and not every one had shift allowances early start 1 or 2.

remember the average was 2.2 door to door per office , RDCs , firms drivers , reserved , indoor staff , nights often did not recieve a penny and some Indivduals did other peoples door to door.

The supplement was put into basic pay and that has risen was the point I was making. There were some losers from the old system I have always said that but if the aim was to ensure it went into basic pay then there we're few other solutions.

Now the other points I put for information was no spin.

Oh and the reps survey has some surprising results such as 76% of the respondents ie local reps believe they have the support from area reps and Divisonal reps to carry out their role !!

Some what of a surprise to me !!!

Complex question , of the CWU could do a quick agreement without strings then anywhere above inflation with a consolidation of part of the supplement into pensionable pay flowing through to all allowances.

if it's with strings then it becomes a whole different ball game. I don't think anyone is up for a BT 2013 agreement , but stopping it will possiblly mean another dispute or the threat of one. then we will see who is up for stoping Roysl Mail's further attacks.

If you wanted honest answers it should have been anonymous.
How do you expect a rep to answer do you take an active role in recruiting new members in your unit? when his/her name is at the top of the survey.
Erm..no i don't really bother.....

The questions were leading.
It didn't ask whether we believed we had the support from area reps and divisonal reps to carry out our role !!...it asked who we had regular contact with and it asked if we have adequate CWU support and facilities to carry out our role as a local representative in two separate questions.
Nice of the union to join the two together though.

The fact is that overweight drivers/firms & indoor duties are reciving a £20+ payment for doing NO extra work or extra prep.

Delivery duties have had an INCREASE in workload ( from 3 to 6+ leaflets per call ) with NO extra time to prep these items. And they are rewarded with a DECREASE in take home pay.

Dress it up anyway you want, but 99% of delivery staff see it as a slap in the face !

Don't believe me ? Then show your face at my office and you'll be left in no doubt as to why faith in the union is at an all time low. ( and by the way, in the past, support for strikes have been 99% solid )

Regaining that trust will take .......a change of direction from CWU HQ.

Not only that,but the part timers are delivering more D2Ds than full timers and getting less money for it.Because on all van shares it's the part timer that gets the walking bit with more delivery points than the full time driver.

Not quite correct Clash but know where you are coming from. We get paid for delivering all mail. D2Ds are no longer a seperately rewarded category.

That is a very good question,I believe it is in a place called London...well the HQ anyway.
