If it was managed properly.
Which means no.

Deliveries which are post revision and thus planned to the minute, to utilise all working hours, could absorb a 17% increase in both indoor and outdoor workloads?fishtank wrote:Yes.steve1873 wrote:Do we think deliveries at present could absorb a 17% increase in workload across the board?

I've got 14 full weeks off this year with my Wally weeks + holidays, screw Saturdayspostwoman1 wrote:Re Monday to Friday delivery. I think if we were all honest, we would all like to finish work on a Friday and have a Saturday and Sunday off, every week. Yes sad that people would lose their jobs, but if they were in your/my shoes they would want a Monday to Friday week and a proper weekend.
Best advice could be - MOVE TO GERMANY.CORTINA wrote:Well a 5 day week is blatantly obvious as cost cutting and staff cutting for increased profits .... is the required future remit.
All getting set and ready for the BIG SELL OFF.... Its Just a matter of time....
More part time working will no doubt follow afterwards ... for more increased profits
The trend in many companies is to part time working, and PT working was reported at a record level in 2012.
All this with the trend for record low pay outs on pension annuities in 2012....
Another point is the UK has the lowest number of bank holidays in europe with 8 days.... many have 10 - 12 and Germany have a happy 16 days.... Few first time house buyers can afford a home and with costs of council tax and utility bills at around £120 plus a month, that is before you start to pay your mortgage if you can afford or even get one....that is if you can afford the mortgage deposit before all that.
All this with highest rail fares and petrol costs and utility costs in the euro land.... and the RIPP OFF UK goes on and on.... as has been the case for the past 20 years.... no wonder very few bother to vote in UK elections... And we have a poor trade union movement that many have stopped financing and are leaving instead ... I wonder why....
Meanwhile we wait to see how our future pans out at RM as the sell off approaches and a future 5 day week ....
Best advise is.... DO NOT TAKE OUT ANY MAJOR DEBT.... as job security or reduced hours maybe an issue in the next year or two...
Happy new year to you all.....
But don't do it too quickly. http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 40&t=50064" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TheCobra wrote:
