Simple word of advice ! When you dock the PDA in the charger make sure that it reads AC and the red light comes on ?
Rubbish advice! I do that already!

I probably change on average 2 PDAs a week for one reason or another, it's no hardship I just ring the IT helpdesk and a new PDA appears the next day - well when i say new I mean a replacement. Broken straps, faulty software, busted screen and I used to report batteries which originally you had to send the whole unit back but latterly just the battery and they would replace up to six at any one time. In october they sent us a huge box full of new batteries so it isn't a problem now but then it just needs someone to take charge of replacing faulty kit.

Make sure its put in the cradle properly and is charging.

I used to have a problem with mine, then i noticed that when the PDA next to mine is removed, mine stops charging, so i have to push it back in and it starts charging again

Thank you Teebs . I have used a PDA from day one . Had a few minor probs. They are only like a computer . When they go wrong it is not the computers fault but the person feeding the info to it ?

A lot of the vans tracking on these new Vauxhall Combi vans need adjusting and all the vans tyres are bald on the insides.
What does the DOM do , he takes all the spares out of the new vans and swaps the tyres over without solving the real problem of the tracking.
So we now have a fleet of vans going round with no spare wheels and dodgy tracking
My van is missing it's spare wheel because I found a screw in the tyre. DoM just got the wheel changed with the spare rather than get the tyre replaced/repaired.

Why would any company think that's a good idea? I don't have a phone  so what would I do?

What don't people understand about the consequences of condoning this approach?? at the least it's a disciplinary action and at worst.. well, lets not go there."

Press the phone button (second from the left on the top row) click contacts and rac breakdown service is at the bottom of the list.
