Re: huh job finished?
Thats the way the Job Centre was getting just before I signed off. Your lucky if you can find 1 job to apply for usually never mind 6.
Really hoping I get kept on at RM, one of the managers came up to me the week before xmas and said he was putting my name forward for a contract, just hoping it wasn't a trick to keep us motivated

Re: huh job finished?
this seems more like a Job Centre problem, than a Royal Mail problem.
As for which jobs you can apply for, well there isnt normally alot at this time of the year, it will pick up in a couple of weeks, and apply for whatever you were applying for, before you worked with Royal Mail, now you have a few weeks work experince, im sure employers will be falling over themselves ;)

Re: huh job finished?
Write a CV, get a tie, and starting walking round your local area. - I got my very first job stacking shelves doing that.
Write a CV and join an Agency - I got my first job after leaving the Forces doing that, it turned into a permanent placement and FT job.
Before I joined Royal Mail I was sending on average 5 CVs a day for jobs I didn't want.
BTW when I left school I had 5 CSEs and it was 1980 so no real qualifications, I think showing willing and tennacity to get a job sometimes is more attractive to employers than a long list of letters after your name.

Obviously look for jobs you want to do and can do,as for the rest if you can't make 6 lie.
My neighbour has to do 3 a week,he usually finds 3 but when he can't he bullshits them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
