Actually it was in an earlier post in the same thread

Well when you see some of the preferential treatment given to some minorities, I'm all in favour of seniority in Royal Mail and I believe people should only get benefits who have actually put in to the system, time in the case of RM and money into the welfare fund - rather like a bank....................you can't walk into Barclays, say - "I've just arrived now give me some money and a 4 bed detached house would be nice that the rest of you can pay for".

Thats a Daily Mail approach to an argument and I am not going to get into a debate about it.

Well I'm ditching the Mirror and going to the Daily Mail in future - does it have a problem page, I love them better than the comic strips?

not read all the thread but at my del office about 120 staff

everyone get 2 weeks first pick if over subscribed it is drawn from the hat this does not normally happen as everyone usually gets the 2 weeks they want .then everyone gets to pick there next 2 weeks from what is left and so on .

it is very rare people dont get the holidays they want in the first pick occainsly some weeks are over subscribed (school holidays but very rare ) seems to work well at my office and most are happy

I care dingo because if we don't apply agreements properly we can hardly bitch about it when Royal Mail don't.

Do the members want change?
Not all of them that's for sure, certainly not those unfairly advantaged by the system.
Does that matter?...no...because if i came across one single member disadvantaged by an unfair and unagreed process implemented by Royal Mail i would care...why should the fact that it's implemented by the union make me turn a blind eye.
As i've told you before i'm a Trade Unionist first and a CWU member second.
I totally agree with the trade union first bit. I was in the NUM for 20 years everyone was treated the same. The old colliery looked out for the young lads. I can't believe some of the comments on here from so called union men
