Not paid enough OT

oright guys iam owed around 31 hours overtime for last week and havent been paid a penny of it this week so iam sure we are due to find out, how will they work this though 31 hours over last week 20 hours over this week ... how will they pay this up???

See your union rep first note all dates times and relevant witnesses as too your claiming of your hours this is why I don't work over my time.

Over in the angard/xmas casual forum there is a thread about deferred payments because the payroll was run early (so probably an earlier cut-off point), probably the same reason applies here

I am under by 5 hours and was going to ask tom morning but thanks to this brill site i no longer have to but can offer advice instead

the payroll was run on Friday so assuming your overtime is ( like ours) entered a day behind then you will have only been paid overtime up to last Wednesday from last week

the rest ( thur/fri/sat) will be paid this week

and BTW this week is the same payroll is run tomorrow so only overtime from monday will be paid next week ( as well as any owing from week before)

overtime from thurs - sat this week will be paid on 11th Jan ( I think that is right date)

This was explained to us in detail beforehand and we had posters put up around the office to let everyone know this would be the case - did this not happen everywhere?

Are you kidding me? Managers inform staff what is going on?!? They don't even know themselves most of the time. Our manager has nothing to do with the OT payments. This forum is the main source of info for most of us.

I never do a minute of overtime and avoid this problem.

Every week i hear colleagues complaining of never receiving correct overtime, and it runs weeks in arrears, i know they lose track of it.

yeah they told us we would not get it this week because the HR people shut down for xmas but we will get it all next week.

Very poor situation indeed. Just when you need the money over this expensive time of year, they hit you where it hurts. Surely provision should have been made to tag overtime onto salaries over the holiday period. After all us 'workers' only have 3 bank holiday days off, I take it HR 9-5'ers get a week plus?

And I bet HR got their pay as normal.

Apparently its the psp wages system cut off for xmas. No more overtime will be paid until 4th of January. Let me see now...how much money in unpaid wages does that give the finance director to play with?

The clue is in the "Bank Holidays", that's why pay is processed on different days. If the banks are closed for 2 out of 5 days then it obviously has a knock on effect. It's got nothing to do with HR shutting down (which it doesn't), it is HR's busiest period too.

Yes, HR did get their normal pay because they are monthly paid and don't get paid overtime.
