is there any hope of being called back (royal mail casuals) or should i get back to signing on? really dont want to be signing on again its just too much stress and hassle, would even take up an offer from angard of even one shift a week, anyone know a number of angard that i can contact to get me some shifts?

Re: anyone been called back?
If they didn't ask if you wanted to be considered by Angard before you left, then presumably your MC is set for casuals during the year(?).
We all got asked if we wanted to go on Angard's list, though we didn't get any confirmation that we were taken on just that "management would decide" which workers would eventually be added to the Angard pool. I doubt much comes from it anyway to be honest, once the festive period is over I expect they're usually set for mail sorters and just jiggle the shifts of their full timers where need be.

Re: anyone been called back?
Are you sure about this?
I was told by a manager that Angard may not be supplying the all year round casuals for 2013.
Nobody has been told anything about an Angard list. The people at the place I'm at have been extended until early January without any promises or guarantees about future work.
If it's to be believed I heard that Angard was being scrapped completely, but I guess that was all just a rumour.

Runours a rife everywhere. Angard is owned by the Royal Mail and its main reason for being in existance is to supply flexible resource to Royal Mail. Why srap it and go back to hiring staff direct? Yes the pay rate for the direct hire casual staff will, more than likely, go down to minimum rate - this is what it was before Angard and what it was after Angard until you have completed AWR qualification. This is not the only "cost" of flexible resource or the only reason for Angard existence.
