Mail Centre Resign
Can anyone tell me the rules when a resign happens at a mail centre?
Was told by a rep that seniority is not taken into account and its done on shift and tpm allowance.

Re: Mail Centre Resign
Seniority still applies but you can not knock someone off a job if it means RM would have to pay them pay protection. So essentially it is seniority on shift rather than in the MC overall.

About the only exception to to that would be an early d
I think that the only exception to that would be an early manual duty that had changed enough to be included in the resign which would then be able to be signed for by the most senior person from any shift.

Re: Mail Centre Resign
Just wondering, would it be seniority on that shift or seniority in RM?

It's not just mech staff, anyone getting a pensionable allowance comes under pay protection.

whisperstar24 wrote:resourcing jobs through major change agreement 2003 states that if a manual job before a resign and after the new proposals has not changed by more than 30 mins or 25% in content then those people can opt out of that resign. The remaining staff in the resign will have it done on seniority .This is how it should be done. With regard to mtsf and pay protection if mech staff are in a resign then it has to be done according to time in receipt of allowances ,so this take preference over seniority unless time on the job with allowances is exactly the same
thats been superseeded by the way forward agreement and the way forward agreement no longer includes the 30min or 25% its "any change" now and its included in resign
