I love the colder weather and this aint cold yet.. I used to wear shorts all year round On delivery and as long as my body was warm no problem..I did get some comments from customers when it snowed but i found it was ok until you stopped walking..
No one needs central heating yet... When its -0 then think about it but more time you get colds and bad chests is when u have central heating indoors n then go out... I have my bedroom window open and in the day my patio doors open... Luvly fresh air...
Never had that In E. London Now i moved out in the sticks i love it!!!
As for northern bein hard... More like to tight to turn another candle on...
I've put the gas fire on for now, whilst I can sort of afford it. Perhaps its not that cold at the mo, I'm off sick so I need the heat to make me feel better (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it) hopefully it will be warmer on the picket line next week, as I wanna be down there to join my colleagues.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I know it sounds obvious but have you checked the external thermostat is turned to a sufficiently high setting to switch on?
I've done the same thing and I used to install solid fuel central heating!!
My central heating is so c**p it don't have an external thermostat, each rad has a thermostat. Back boiler was serviced not long ago, got hot water, no heating tho.
