Dont worry they are being well looked after by our union. however one such postie was not so lucky. She was told to take out a delivery even though she is 7 months pregnant!!! and untrained in the fine art of delivery. She went off sick with stress and had a bad road accident on way home car a right off. but she and baby are fine after being taken by ambulance to hospital. All this from such a caring and understanding employer!!! :cfo :lfo
B******ds. This is the way they want to treat us with 'flexibility'. :lfo :cfo
Hope the postwoman and baby are OK - she should take some time off. I don't think they can take any action against her if her absence is pregnancy related.
Sounds like you're really dealing with some a**eh**e managers there mate. You should get this in the local paper to show your customers what you have to deal with.
Good luck to all at Watford :Applause :Applause Stay strong. We'll be joining you soon.

The posmen/wemon at Watford are getting a real hard time, not just the deliveries but now the processing staff as well,we need to keep our cool till this Friday for the official IA,dont fool for their tricks of trying to provoke IA that would play right in to their hands.I guess RM are trying to provoke unofficial IA in other offices as well,no doubt there'll be a bonus for the manager that succeeds.

Mail bosses call cops to dispute with staff

Police were called to a row between postal workers and bosses which nearly ended in tragedy yesterday.

A pregnant employee sent home early during the heat of the dispute survived a crash on the M1. Vicky Tomlin, 31, was lucky to escape unhurt from the wreck of her car.

The row was at the Watford Mail Centre, where there is a work-to-rule over pay.

Managers ordered 15 posties home, claiming they were not working properly. Union leaders say the workers stayed and bosses called police, who refused to get involved.

Staff not usually expected to deliver mail were asked to do so, including Ms Tomlin.

She said: "It's crazy asking me to do a delivery round. I'm eight months pregnant. They are bullying people."

Her union advised her to go to avoid the stress of confrontations - and she was involved in the crash.

She said: "It was terrifying. A lorry clipped my car and I hit the barrier and a truck."

The Royal Mail denied bullying and said: "We have zero tolerance against it."

The Communication Workers Union announced strikes on October 4 and 8.

When the 12 workers at Burslem were taken out of the office we had police and security staff at the office, it sounds like they are using this tactic all over the place, RM dont care about bullying when it concerns managers but they bleat it out to the press and public when it concerns postal staff because it makes us look bad, and bullying a pregnant woman, f***ing scumbags, well :lfo and :cfo i hope your both proud of yourselves youve really made RM look like a third world country dictatorship, whats the matter :lfo and :cfo have you got to make sure you force all these changes in before you f**k off in March otherwise you lose your big bonuses, why dont you try giving working people some dignity and respect then you might get some back. Absolutely F***ing disgacefull.

What would either of them know about working people mate? Neither of those parasites has ever done a honest days work in their lives and that's the problem.

Bullying

Post by coppertop »

Yes well said but bullying takes all forms , we are being told if we cut off now no job and finnish at all what i would like to know is when overtime became compolsary. But to send an 8 month pregnant women out on delivery shows how far the trailer trash that runs this company will go to to get the job done. Ever since Messers L & C took over standards have dropped, they care for nobody but themselfs and yes I am sure that L & C are celabrating a victoey in bullyboy tactics today, but I feel this is just the start of things to come :cfo :lfo :cfo :lfo
