Why the light Tuesday even the 18th dec

Post by centenaryman »

hi,,,all year round we get easier tuesdays on delivery,,,,,today the 18th was expecting a hard day an it had to be 1 of the lightest days for a long time including summer.

latley been averaging 3 sacks of parcels each morning on my walk....sometime more,,,so average 3
this morning i only got about 3/4 of a sack...... this isnt a complaint,,,god i wish all days were tuesdays LOL

what gets me is then on a wednesday we get hammered,,,,,and our d.o.m was getting lads in this afternoon to sort mail?? so some must be on its way up tuesday afternoon.

so this doesnt bode well for tomorrow....LOL

so whats the reasoning,,,,is our mail centre short saffed on a monday afternoon an night or other reasons,,,,,,,were supplied by warrington btw

Monday was a horrendous day on collections. For us it was the heaviest day we have ever had. Every collections hub in our area bulked out on their dispatches to the MC, despite extra runs being put in. I can only assume that your MC chose to process the outward mail on the monday night shift instead if the inward, hence giving you a really light tuesday. Ours was lightish, for christmas at least. It was more like a normal heavy wed/thu.

Because over the weekend people order huge amounts of stuff on the net which then gets posted on a Monday 2nd class, hence heavy deliveries on a Weds.

Or could it be that an order has come from above (and I dont mean Heaven) to make every Tuesday light so that they can put forward an IDEA to the regulator that perhaps Tuesday Deliveries can be permanently stopped, producing a five day week and reducing staffing levels yet again.

if its bulking out in the MC, we can expect it to translate into heavy deliveries shortly.

Dont need snow, they will blame the strikes and too many posties going off sick, and the rest not doing overtime. They will not proportion any blame to themselves.

Posties not doing overtime is no excuse, surely a company this size would have people on min. wage to do the work a postie would get paid almost £10 hour to do?
