It might be partly what that filming stuff was about earlier in the year for recording the location of every delivery point, it that included GPS data then if the scan for an item was not made within x meters of the delivery point then it might flagged somewhere.

Shortly before our revision tracked no-signature packets that were guaranteed to fit through a letterbox were passed to the walkers. Funnily enough, that's the only time I've ever seen those letterbox-templates being used. Apparently a lot of my office is still untrained on the PDAs so the tracked packets are logged by hand on a signature card (since the barcodes never seem to line up with the peel-off stickers).

On location tracking, at what point does the PDA note that? If I scan an item as we're driving to the delivery point or if I don't hit DONE after getting a signature until heading back down the road, will that be flagged?
The machine stops.

It's a real time piece of kit, it stores what you do when you do it. It will also log where you did it with a gps position and if there is a problem and they use the program called black bay, I think, they can recall when, where and who.

Just do it properly, why cut corners, ffs, people still rushing around trying to be a hero......youre working your hours...end of story. If you are gaining half an hour here and there, youll just get more given you.Youll learn.
If theres not enough PDA`s tell them to GTFO and youre not taking it.
BTW some of these tracked are linked to the customers mobile phone numbers and when its scanned as delivered they receive a txt telling them its been delivered, bit tricky when its still in your van .
You are only as good as the last letter you delivered

Don't forget also that items may have RFID tags in them so RM can see when they entered and when they exited an office

If no one wants do do the tracked on OT over Christmas can't they get a reserve to do it as duty? There should be spare reserves due to no A/L.

:chuckle
There may be no AL but there's a hell of a lot on long term sick in this brave new post revision world and there's been a lot of extra packets duties and a night shift put in so any spare bodies have more or less all already been allocated to duties.

That said - the night shift duties aren't getting through their work, the HCT and P&L duties haven't got a cat in hells chance of getting through their duties and there isn't nearly enough packets duties to get through the avalanche of packets. In the rare event there is a spare bod then he's quickly snaffled up to take a cut-off or 3 out. Such a shame, the DOM and his cronies had it all worked out down to the most minute detail

That's what happens when you push on into Christmas with revised duties that couldn't even cope with the workloads through the light summer period.
