So what's their position on the mess your office is in and the bullying that's going on?

The honest answer from managers that are visiting is that it's an indoor problem and if we get out on time everything will be fine. Union says it's both indoor and outdoor. Bullying won't stop till managers involved are moved out.

Bullying managers NEVER change (leopard spots?) the ones that have been moved on have nearly all reoffended.


Delivery problems are both inside and outside, P&L will never work and Georoute needs replacing. Whilst indoor workload can be modelled it needs checking post implementation, outside a return to proper walk testing needs to be done.


Not what RM wants to hear asall this takes resource, time and money.

My way of dealing with this is not to give a toss, come in work to my time, any threats made will just go in one ear and out the other, I just shrug my shoulders and offer them the opportunity to show me how to "improve my work" also they regularly decline to come out with me on delivery, since I don't care they don't know how to deal with that, nothing intimidates me also if somebody pisses me off I just go into "awkward mode" by working exactly to the rules.

precisely,the reason there's so much bullying at royal mail is because it gets the desired results, i've worked for this firm 17 years and its the way its always been. my advice, grow a pair, work your hours and do the job exactly the way you're meant to.

The other day I saw a colleague being bullied and I spoke out, the one being bullied shot me down and said they were only having some fun. Sad sad days.

The only thing that will stop corporate bullying is when a manager is found responsible by Royal Mail Executive and dismissed without any severance, and his case is posted in the Courier. Perhaps the rest of these m.rons will think before they act. Then again it was supposed to be the end of the universe today, and I suppose there was more chance of that.

RM is a great example of how Bullying Managers operate in a large organisation:

1. They continually escape any form of redress for their behaviour with it either usually being condoned or ignored totally.

2. Where the victim (either another manager or OPG) does manage to raise a successful case the punishment is more of a token on the part of RM with loss of grade or dismissal being very rare. This is partly doe to process that is not fit for purpose partly due to RM showing a blind eye as Bullying Managers are seen to be 'getting the job done'.

3. There is a very real fear amongst staff that by raising a B&H case they will be seen as a disruptive influence and have their 'cards marked'. I believe this to be true and have seen at first hand how staff perceived in this way are regularly picked upon.

Raising a B&H case is a waste of time they either downgrade it to `just` a grievance or if they do go through the motions they then come at you with the bad faith bolloxs and try and sack you under the conduct code.

Thats exactly what they do General, but don,t let this deter you from taking your grievance all the way. At appeal they have to take things a tad more seriously. If you know you are in the right you cannot let their prejudices deter you from standing your ground.

I am going through this right now, My manager even tried to conduct code my while on sick , but has been rebuffed by Atos,

But I am off with WRS since last saturday due to a trumped up charge of bringing mail back even though earlier in the week a bag had been stolen and the postie was never suspended but I bring mail back and I am suspended from deliveries.

I also had my B/H downgraded to a grievence but I am still going ahead with it, lost a lot of monies in the last couple of weeks, I am off for 2weeks sick and probably wil be longer

All because I grew a pair and stood up to my manager
