Hi,
After working for Angard last Christmas I applied back in early September to Royal Mail(York). A couple of weeks back my status changed to application withdrawn, job is no longer available. I then get a call from Manpower who apparently got my details from Royal Mail. They tell me they are now handling Christmas recruitment. Very strange. Did anyone else get a similar call? Maybe it is just a York thing.

Data Protection Act springs to mind unless you have given them permission to send your details to a third party.

Re: Details passed to Manpower
I applied like anyone else on the Royal Mail job site so unless there were terms and conditions regarding a third party that I didn't see you could be right about data protection. The person who spoke to me, first asked what work i was interested in and only mentioned Royal Mail later when I asked how they got my details.

Re: Details passed to Manpower
I'm working for Royal mail at York as an RM casual, I have noticed that some Manpower casuals have sprung up but i believe a lot of them have worked through the year, also a couple of RM casuals started this week. At the recruitment event we were dealt with by Manpower staff (apart from the three workplace coaches), what i'm wondering is why use Manpower when Royal mail have their own agency.
