Anyone know why Peterborough Outhouse is so quiet?

did the 9 to 5 Saturday shift today, walked out to the Outhouse being almost empty of parcels to sort, having had the same problem for most of the day.

Have people stopped ordering from Amazon, or has an invisible dome been put over the PE postcodes, cutting us off from the outside world?

All last week, there were so many Yorks, I didnt think we would get them done, now there are not nearly enough, and I suspect half the 2pm - 10pm shift was asked not to turn up.

They sent all the casuals home early where I work as no work came in for them. A few lucky ones got sent into our DO to do a delivery as we were in the s**t.

But we could really do with them, I've never understood why the MCs get extra staff when the DOs don't, we have to deliver all the extra after all

But we could really do with them, I've never understood why the DOs get extra staff when the MCs don't, we have to deliver all the extra after all

it does seem a bit odd, guess that whilst its easy to just add an extra set of hands in the DOs, its harder to add an extra set on delivery, due the pre planned nature, unless you give certain posties, an assistant, to do half the round for them. or let the casual do most of the letters, whilst the posties does the packages, and then some of the letters, when the packages are done.

just a quick update, when I left, we were starting to store up Yorks full of Amazon packages again, and the 6am - 2pm, shift was being asked if it wanted over time, the situation does seem to be improving, but until today, I would not say we had been "busy" all week, enough work yes, but not busy.
