Well I always thought whatever was discussed between a Union rep and a Postie was supposed to be confidential.
The Union rep would only approach management if it was what the Postie wanted.
I have met plenty of reps who, whenever they hear anything on the shop floor go straight to management and tell them but I didn't think this is the way it's supposed to be.
Personally I would feel very uncomfortable discussing issues about my manager with my Union rep if my Union rep and manager were married.

A few years ago our General Secretary Derek Hodgson was married to the International head of letters for Royal Mail so I guess that your Union Rep is not doing anything technically wrong.Shoebacca wrote:In my office , our Union Rep is married to a line manager .. The answer is easy my friend. You must leave the CWU at once and join a Trade Union. Once you have joined a Trade Union, I believe, you might have a real chance of representation, although I warn you, I believe any Trade Union you join will find it hard to believe, once you inform them, of the way the CWU is behaving.
