Go to hospital and get a return to work.

Post by postiegarry »

went to the hospital 2 weeks ago for a scan on my heart, arranged the week before to go in prep my walk and then leave to go to the hospital for my 9-30 appointment,so i was quite shocked yesterday when i was called into the office to do a return to work, how heartless can some assistant doms be.

Depends on his/her approach and what was said? I have had some RTW's that merely asked how I was and if there was any support I needed. Now if you were called in and issued a warning thats another story!

Would you expect a RTW for any type of sick related absence?

i think he was not at all intersted about anything other than the few hours i missed out on my delivery,i would expect a RTW if i had been off sick, but come on,i went in and prepped my walk as arranged, have now been told i'm on the waiting list for an angeogram, so can i expect a stage 1 when i go for this???

Until now I went eight years without a day of sick. Tell these managers to piss off and stand up for your rights as a human being and dont be so bloody soft.
Are you sure?
About the not coming in to prep thing.
A gal at our place has had about 3 appointments in the last couple of months and she has to come in and prep.
And as far as i'm aware it depends on the time your appointment is.

I'm also presuming,i will ask her tomm, that if you come in and prep then you are not using up a days holiday.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I have learned very early in my career, that Royal Mail doesn't have a heart at all, one day or 2 weeks, be hanged for a Sheep as for a Lamb, I don't do them any favours, if I am going off sick for a couple of days, I go for the full two weeks as I may as well get clobbered for the max, the system is sooooooooo unsympathetic and inhumane, that I would gladly screw Royal Mail for every penny without a concience as they have screwed me.

Loyalty ? you can screw that as well.

hospital appointments

Post by Chrissie »

had some tests because of a heart condition and had to have four days of work. I was sent to see the Royal Mail doctor because my managers wanted to know if I was eligable for medical retirement. (by the way the 4 days of work were my only sick in 4 years ) Royal Mail doctors came up trumps and told them I was not only fit to work my illness put me under the DDA banner and they had to make changes to my duty to help me carry on working. Quess who had egg on their faces.
