CWU Humanitarian Aid is appealing for donations to fund plans to bring some disadvantaged Lithuanian children to the UK for a short holiday next March.

The project, which is being jointly organised with the union's education department, aims to give these youngsters - many of whom are orphans - the chance to visit Britain and see some of the sights that we all take for granted.

Carl Webb, CWUHA chair, explains: "We want to bring some happiness and fun into these kids' lives and we're hoping to organise day trips to Cadbury World, Thorpe Park and the London Eye while they're over here.

"They'll be staying in Alvescot Lodge, thanks to the kind intervention of our head of education and training Trish Lavelle and that's going to be their base while they're over here.

"Obviously, this all costs money and we're asking CWU members, please give whatever you can to our appeal fund and please help us to help these needy children," Carl urged.

Please send donations to:

Ian Young, 22 Duncombe Rd, Great Lever, Bolton, BL3 3FD, making all cheques payable to 'CWUHA' writing 'Lithuania Appeal' on the back of the cheque.
