I have driven past police on countless occasions with no seat belt on. I'm on a town round so literally drive yards to the next drop. All they have ever done is acknowledge me.

Quite right too, no doubt acknowedging our vital role in conveying Her Majesty's mail and believing that Royal Mail vehicles are exempt from all road traffic regulations. :nana :nana

You are only exempt for medical reasons if you doctor gives you a note and that is very hard to get.
