He hasn't done anything "wrong"...legally.
And unless it makes the papers. ..and causes a stink he hasn't brought the business into disrepute.
Grassing would only open you up to charges of making a malicious accusation.

For the record,CWU HQ called us on here loonies,and Dave Ward a week ago said we were too militant on this site.

There are better/safer ways to put information out there in the intertwitterfacebook world than using the grassing up method if you use your head is all i'm saying.

As for Wardy's comment...that's about as dumb as they come.
The union is going to need all the militant it can scrape together(which isn't much) in the next 18 months and he thinks we're too militant.

it has been brought to my attention that Mr. XXX a manger at XXXX has been caught at customs with a car full of duty free cigarettes. It is my understanding that he was hoping to resell them in the DO to make a profit.
Is this sort of behaviour acceptable to you?

The problem with the dear Moya thing is you can't expect them to investigate on the strength of one email,i would imagine they get loads of accusations per day about management and even if they do they are going to want real evidence,not hearsay and they are going to want name,rank and serial number.
To be honest,on the balance of risk against anything being done,bearing in mind that he hasn't broken the law or brought the company into disrepute the safe advice would be to drop it.
I know that's not popular with the loony militants but it's just a personal opinion.

Well if nothing else it is worth filing it away with names and dates, maybe I can use it in the future when he decides to aim his guns at me again.

Customs would of just given him a fine, taken the fags and tell him not to do it again. He's lucky he did'nt have his car confiscated as they have a habit of doing that at Dover. They will tag him and the car on their computer so next time he does go across the channel he will be pulled up and searched. I doubt RM will be interested.
